UMNO wants state to stop granting the building of Non Muslim place of worship? (Update 27 June 2007)

BN State Assemblyman from Semerak demanded Pas controlled State Government to control on the development of non Muslim place for worshipping by citing some of the temples in Tumpat and in Bachok, the BN Representative from UMNO said such building is a mark of challenge to Islam.
As Kelantan is famously known as Serambi Mekkah (The corridor of Mecca), allowing such liberty is a sign of contradiction of the Islamic representation by the State.
The assemblyman said this while debating on an amendment to one of the state’s law during the afternoon session.
Meanwhile in Kuala Lumpur the Hadhari Government allowed this and read the comment by Rocky here.

The holiest site of all …where Buddha was enlightened..at Bodigaya , India have all the religions temples built freely.
There are ways to protect and love your religion.Worst is trying to be afraid others are better than yours with such idiotic logic spoken by that Semerak assembly man.
If in other States..they allow the biggest Buddhist temples built….why can’t PAS follow.
No…they are jealous of PAS smart idea….but if they do it…it is okay.

These Sitting Buddha and Sleeping Buddha remind me of my last visit there on last February with my friend from Mexico. He spend a wonderful days in Kelantan. Managed to bring him visit a few places (also went to Husam territory, PCB), watching silat performance, play gasing and also let him taste a durian. I told him that Kelantan is the only state govern by opposition who turn to be a Islamic party. He’s bit surprise because he can see how beauty the real Islam way of life…peaople with different religion living side by side and state government allow such a big tample in Islamic state….
Keep up a good work Sheikh…let UMNO drown in their dream…tanggle with their retoric motto..

The greatest irony in Malaysia is that the Islamic party that practices true Islam had proven that they could tolerate other religion and religious freedom is thus ensured, while, the coalition govt that proudly declares themselves as multi-racial and multi-religious are manned by a bunch of sycophants and bigots who do nothing for humanity except to enrich themselves by robbing the nation’s wealth in the name of Islam by clothing themselves in Malay skin which ultimately tarnishes the images of the Malays.

To sum up what I read so far is that Kelantan is a State with no racial discreminations….as we also read so many other races who are not muslims love Kelantan.
That is a great achievment by PAS and prove they love human beings when they take up politics.
UMNO….have proven they are unreliable.
And may Keadilan who is still a nobody stay humble and do not dictate terms. Then both can give UMNO something to remember for a long long time….get knocked out left and right in next general elections.
