The late Tun Abdul Razak engineered the construction of Barisan Nasional and brought back democracy to the country. Gerakan and PAS were among the new members of the coalition from Peninsular Malaysia.
Although PAS was forced to leave BN less then a decade later, yet, under Mahathir Mohamed, BN become much stronger despites some chaotic moments in Sabah.
BN reached its pinnacle in 2004, some said due to the new breathe by the new leader, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi whom during that time was famously known as Mr. Clean. While others believe the huge mandate was a way some Malaysian voters wanted to thank Tun Dr. Mahathir who left office few months before the election. I was among those who voted MCA Candidate in order to thank Tun.
When Mahathir made the announcement about his retirement, many who were neither strong supporters of BN nor believer of UMNO felt that the country soon would be facing an uncertain future. Although we do shared the sorrows and grievances faced by many due to strong and forceful policies on national security during Mahathir’s time, yet the majority cherished.
Despites all the so-called bailouts, we always managed to crawl back and stand up. Yes, during those times, we stood tall in the eye of the world. And Mahathir did it against all odds. Please don’t hide those facts away.
Nevertheless, if Mahathir were given another chance, forget about his age factor, but take into consideration how the aging world has fast change, I doubt he will be able to continue to serve us like before. He is one of a kind, yes, yet he is only a man for his era.
Abdullah Ahmad Badawi took over the country when the world is facing monumental changes. Mahathir retired at the brink of digital changes that he always dreamt and played a part, with cautious. Abdullah tried to govern the country in moderation but beside his flip-flop decision, the conservativeness in UMNO help to fasten his exit. UMNO had until today failed to face the changing world and the new generation. Will UMNO ever capable to change and re-brand itself?
The brand called UMNO is a laughing stock for the new generation. It does not suite the new transparent world. UMNO can never grow any younger because it is full of young leader whom too fond of old UMNO strategy.
A beautiful doctored photo of Najib as it appeared in Rocky’s Bru
Will Najib capable of bringing UMNO down to its knee to be knighted by the new generation? I seriously doubt it. I never doubt Najib’s capabilities to govern UMNO and make it stronger again. Najib has all the talent to make UMNO, the ‘UMNO’ again. But by doing so, Najib will only bring down the legacy of his late father.
A stronger UMNO will only pose death to BN. A stronger UMNO will mean more corruption to fill the thirsty Division leaders. A stronger UMNO will mean more divide and rule concepts. A stronger UMNO will mean more racial problems.
A stronger UMNO will mean arrogance!
Even at its weakest point in life, UMNO members remain arrogance. While some of them happily agreed with the opposition and point the finger to Abdullah, they as usual failed to see their four fingers are pointing back at them. What brought Abdullah down is not the opposition, but UMNO itself. The oppositions are merely taking advantage by pouring petrol into the already open burning within UMNO. Sooner than expected UMNO succumbed to the opposition’s psychological warfare and they themselves butchered Abdullah, as what the opposition wanted them to do.
When Abdullah took office, he is praised as the clean man and with all the combinations of factors and reforms, he almost wiped out the PKR and PAS from Parliament and recapture Kelantan. He had unite the Malay like nothing ever been seen since 1986.
Who had made it impossible for Abdullah to bring reform? Remember IPCMC as an example? A lot of protest came within UMNO itself. Who had collaborated in organising a campaign to bring Abdullah down before the PRU 12, well it is certain UMNO members itself? Soon, in order to survive the UMNO, Abdullah had to succumb to money politics and dived into the world of corrupt politics filled with cronyism and nepotism.
For the third time, I will repeat myself, Abdullah came into power as a clean man and the morale of the story is, Najib is not. Whether Najib is clean or not it is not the issue, the issue is, Najib is not perceived as a clean man. Najib came with heavy liability hanging over his head. Najib is followed everywhere with the burden of undisputed psychological warfare by the oppositions. No doubt that Najib definitely will be able to handle these, as the he is currently the undisputed toughest man from UMNO.
Unfortunately, Najib is not known as reformer. Many already perceived that Najib would bring UMNO back to the way it is managed under Mahathir. Najib has read well what happen to his predecessor for going against Tun. He will not repeat the mistake but to follow and obey the Great Man but by doing so under the current climatic problem world which rapidly being re-craft by the wind of change would only mark disaster to UMNO’s partner in BN.
Najib has to choose to either bring UMNO to its knee or being remembered as the son who crumbled his father’s legacy. Reading by politics in UMNO since PRU12, UMNO would remain stubborn in keeping status quo and UMNO blood, is surely very thick in Najib than others.
UMNO under Najib soon will only be the same UMNO, crippled by money politics, lingered with the smell of hatred and run by those who adored corrupt practices. These is the brand call UMNO, hiding behind the word “Agama, Bangsa dan Negara”.
Come PRU13, some who voted the opposition will return to vote for UMNO for its promise of Malay superiority while the new generation and the rest of non-Malays will continue their fight to be Malaysian.
It would be tough for Najib, who until today about to be the only UMNO president voted into the presidency without the pleasure and power of becoming the Prime Minister first.
All the while, for 51 years the BN was strong because UMNO was strong. The support that MIC, Gerakan, MCA nad others enjoy merely because the Malays and people of different races believe that UMNO can bring stability to Malaysia.
If Najib can strengthen UMNO, the other races will surely vote BN again. The points that the leaders of MIC, Gerakan and MCA brought like the supremacy of UMNO, the kriss case, the Raja-Raja issue and others as the reason why BN suffered huge loss in last election was a wrong analysis.
The fact is that the other races, especially Chinese only want stability in politic. They want to have a good economy. They will vote any party that can give stability. Look at England, the Chinese never fight for their right, they never talked about second class citizen, or any similar subject. The fact is that they enjoy good money there! They dont care if the majority there calls them 3rd class or even lower class!
In Malaysia, if Gerakan, MCA and MIC join the PR today, that doesnt mean they will win the next election. The Chinese, especially, could not care a damn with those parties. What they want is a stable politic with a conducive economy, which I personally think Najib can deliver.
kelakar betul la rupa najib tu..sebiji mcm sami budha n sami hindu, dah la perut tu buncit,berlipat2 lagi plak tu (hasil dari rezeki HARAM)….
layak untuk terima anugerah sami terbaik 2008…
bodoh, bangang punya najib…
siot betul la rupa najib tu!!!!!!!!!!!
mcm cipan la plak gua nengoknya
It’s unfortunate for the Malays that they are now divided. I will not blame Najib for UMNO or BN downfall, if ever it happens, because ALL of them (including all BN component parties) must bear collective responsibility.
The issue remains: DO WE HAVE A CREDIBLE ALTERNATIVE ?
Tak perlu nak buka “aib” kelemahan orang lain. Just go on strengthening PR as a coherent entity. Otherwise, next PRU will still go to BN … people can still tolerate a bit of arrogance, reduction in civil liberties, a dictatorial regime ..it’s time-tested. But the danger now is that we are seriously into a possible racial and worst, religious conflicts. Extremism must be avoided at all cost.
Orang Melayu bangsa penyabar … kita lihat dan tunggu bagaimana transisi akan diadakan. Teruskan buat kerja kebaikan sudah !
cinabeng tulll… hehehehe
Sheih,
Badawi recapture Trengganu and not Kelantan, although Kelantan nearly loss in the 2004 GE.
b4 DSAI was sack, d 1 & only opposition in m’sia politic is DAP or Chinese to b precise !
But right after DSAI downfall, d malays has weaken up !!! fr then on d malays has taken d front as Opposition !
malays has realised they hv been cheated for >50years by corrupted rejim racist umno !
rejim umno is hiding behind NEP demi Bangsa, Agama & negara lalu merompak, merogol & meliwat wang khazanah negara.
rejim umno dibantu oleh anjing polis, AG, ACA & korek korek… judge supported by OSA, PPP Act, Sedition Act & ISA demi menghalalkan salah laku rejim !!
You are way to generous with Mahathir my friend. But that’s because you have class.
Yes. Najib will bring about much chaos (to Malaysia) and destruction (of UMNO).
He has so many skeletons in his closet that… heck… he should be called Bapa Skeleton.
We can’t affored such a compromised PM.
In country he is tainted, will this image be the same internationally? What will happen if a meeting of world leaders hosted by the MONGolian gomen in Mongolia, will Najib as PM make the trip to attend the meeting? So, no matter how easy is his path to UMNO Presidency and most probably as PM, he has to clear all allegations pitted against him.
He can’t afford to assume premiership with that kind of image. The whole nation is at stake. It is about pride of the nation, as stake holder Malaysians must be concerned of international consequences, whether we like it or not, in this world of digital divide, news travel with ease in this world without borders.
As it is all about UMNO that will decide, the fate of the nation rest entirely with the UMNO warlords. Do they see the big picture or will it be arrogance and vested interest that will dominate the process? Only God knows, Kita hanya merancang dan yang menetukan ia ALLAH.
How long BN will remain in power, will only be decided if there is another general election, as Pakatan September 16, will only remain as opposition dream. Meanwhile just prepare yourself with all the uncertainty. Political will? or the awakening of the peoples’ power. Surely Pak Lah can do something before he disappear and retire peacefully.
Abdullah was given the opportunity to make changes as the world is bracing itself monumental changes. Corruptions was more transparent at that time. Even now before Najib become the PM, 5 billion has been wiped out from EPF. What next? Nobody knows yet. Such a degree of corruptions will not generate conductive economy even there is no financial crisis today. Did the chinese and indians woke up before PRU12? The sheer arrogance, corruptions and manifest of UMNO drove away voters from BN. Can UMNO re-brand itself?
siae ko datuk najib.. bakpo wak gittu ko dio nyoh.. siae ko dio.. jahak la set demo..
Tian kim, i beg to differ from your analysis. The key factor in this digital world right now is that any wrong doing such as corruption, cronysim.. and the like by any ruling government will be easily exposed for every citizen to see via the digital process. If i may say, the developing world will continue to develop towards a better world status and as such ruling governments will have no choice but to rule with transparency and fairness. This is the trait of humans and is what separates humans from animals.
“UMNO under Najib soon will only be the same UMNO, crippled by money politics, lingered with the smell of hatred and run by those who adored corrupt practices” so as PKR leaders even worst. Accepting sex favor to be the same as accepting “sedekah”!
Sorry to say.. I read halfway and I stop as it is all about UmNO, AAB and Najib. UmNo and AAB is now a past and history. They are a living death and live on oxygen just like in ICU, struggling for survival. About Najib, weather you like it or not, he is going to be the next PM. Is RPK forgotten ?
For the moment, waht attract me most is how you fellas did that Najib’s photo ?
Why are we talking about Mahathir….like as if….without UMNO or him…Malaysia will be doomed.
What is this..”so called bailouts”….as if Mahathir is not bailing out his son..with our money.
I will like Kicky….to explain…what does he mean…by …..”so called bailouts”‘…by Mahathir.
You can be pro Mahathir…..but don’t insult the intelligences of Malaysians…..and speak like a racialist….which once again….you are showing…the signs…you are.
I think UMNO will change for the better. It has got no choice if it wants to rule the country for many years to come. What worries me though is the corruption level and whether UMNO can address this problem effectively in view of the plunging world economy.
I’ve nothing to say, just stop him from becoming our next PM.
He’s a coward hiding behind UMNO.Trying to be good to the rakyat.
A shit is always a shit ( Najis).
The Eurocopter’s deal cancelled, but now trying to cheat our hard earned money.
You what i mean. (EPF)
kbguy….I also glance through and not interested to read seriously.
My message have been under moderation….under long time…when ever I do not agree with him.
Lets see him release it.
As long as the grass grows and the water flows such that BN remains the ruling party of our country, it does not matter who will be the PM of this country. The simple reason is that this person comes from UMNO. He would run the country the same way with corruption, nepotism and croynism that you can say.
He would continue with the legacy of UMNO policies.. Reforms, changes, transparency, equality are only words with no implementation at all. Look at Dr.M, he used ISA to jail his critics and quell any politics of dissent. Next AAB, he could not start any reforms the last 5 years in power. All I can say to you guys is that all Malaysian would continue to be backward as long as BN rules.
Anyway, Najib would be PM for 1 term only, 4 years the most he can govern our country.
The man was hardly a PKR ‘leader’ and was just a state councillor. Now compare him with a man who’s the Deputy Prime Minister and UMNO Deputy President. Also, count how many ‘leaders’ in UMNO and PKR are involved in corruption scandals, implicated murder, making racist statements, obstruction of justice, etc. No prizes for guessing who wins.
And I’m not saying PKR are all saints and angels either. I’m just saying PKR is definitely the lesser of two evils for now and let’s give them a chance to see just how much they can clean up the sorry state our beloved country is in.
If they don’t live up to expectations, you can be sure they’ll be given the boot just the same in the General Elections.
The pic above was really cool… Nice super-imposed! =)
It is obvious that Najib is hiding behind the veil of power to conceal his involvement in the Altantuya case. I am not saying he is guilty because under the rule of law, a person is presumed innocent until proven beyond a reasonable doubt to be guilty. However I think he should come clean and let the courts proved otherwise that he is really innocent. Does he think the Rakyat will just remain silent on this issue? I shudder to think if we shall have a PM in waiting who is so much tainted with the Altantuya case.
Also why is he taking RM5 billions out from our EPF and then injected by Value Capital to shore up the failing companies? Is this really necessary? I hope the PR coalition can find justification for this action by Najib. Is there no statute law to prevent such an abuse of power? The EPF funds are the Rakyat’s hard earned savings for old age. Again I wonder if our EPF funds will just disappear one day. Really, come PRU 13, we the Rakyat will need to vote in a more accountanle and transparent govt. A govt that is trully for the people, by the people and of the people. Look at Thailand now. The people can’t even find one clean and decent PM now. One has been rejected and another on the way out. We are now talking about PEOPLE POWER. Only People Power can get rid of greedy and irresponsible politicians and leaders.
bodoh gile gamba tu..keke sheih ni pun bodoh jugak..yg sokong pun bodoh jugak…PKR sama je ngn BN…rakyat jgn la tertipu ekk…semua pandai kencing tuh..keji gile lah..jijik pun jijik gak PKR nih…org bawah je kena kencing idup2..sedih2 dengan politic malaysia..nasib baik gue dekat luar..
Happy Deepavali Najib & Rosmah
Najib, who is Finance Minister, was commenting on the continuing fall of oil price which registered US$62 (RM221) per barrel on Friday.
In Johor Baru, Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Shahrir Abdul Samad said the reduction would not be more than 15 sen.
“We do not want a big reduction in prices resulting in huge losses for the petrol station operators.”
?????
We have not tried out ..a change of government….and hear goes few….judging what of oppositions government managements…God only knows.
Chinese say…kei si”…afraid to change…no balls….OR…those are paid…pro UMNO workers…knowing their days are numbered ..if they themselves…do not change…to be open minded and support an united Malaysia for Malaysians.
If kickdefella….can prove Mahathir….is a non corrupted person…..and not a dictator…I will shave my head bald….in asking for his forgiveness.
But if…he is…which is…so clear….he is….then…will he dare to shave his head off….asking Malaysians to forgive him?
What do you mean by….”so called bailouts”?
You have proven your up-side down flag….so clear.
Now speak up….clearly….what do you mean by that.
Oh Gosh….you think he steals from other Malaysians..is OK…..and the country’s wealth…all belong to Malays…to do as they like??
Are you a racialist???
Kickdefella.. said he is a film maker….and I hope he is making a film….of what some other fanatic racialist muslims….are thinking….inviting comments…..and not really his own person…. talking.
I know him..and his wife and children… all are… very broad minded Malaysians.
during Tun reign every where in the world Malayasia is known for political stability just like Singapore
those day investor coming to Malaysia because of political stability ,they do not look at your perestroika otherwise no investment in Singapore. when AAB experimenting his style of so called liberalism Malaysia face with political uncertainty .
Najib will be able to put back the political stability, business as usual , investor coming back , the chinese will be happy when the business flourish . peoples will support BN again . MPs from Adil will crossover to BN .
MIC and Gerakan can join Pas -DAP. we do need good opposition .
Was it not Tun Razak behind May 13 1969?????????????????
Jason,
u r right. That so call Perak’s exco is no PKR member !
BUT
corrupted rejim racist umno is popular with sex monster:
– Cik Tambi Rahim x-melaka cm, merogol gadis melayu bawah umur TAPi LGE masuk jail & gadis masuk rehab ctr ! Tambi still keeping his Tan Sri ship, GABEM president post & WALK FREE ! now nominated to rejim VP !
– JJ x- Innovation Science minister, molest waitress @ KL Hilton !
– Najis Rosak ditangkap khawat dgn penyanyi terkenal tanahair ZZ di PD hotel ! kini Najis & gangs was related to murder mongolia Altantuya !
It definitely will be tough for Najib to rejuvenate the building of Malaysia. He has a greater task in him. Surviving Malaysia from the depress economical situation, ignite the unity of Malaysian Malaysia, reconditioning the racist and religion extremist friction, expound the freedom in the democracy principality, task of setting order and working to enhance order; balancing ISA and freedom of journalism in the path expression in Malaysia.
Despite this challenging task in solving the situation above looking sadly also his own critical personal dilemmas that continuously protrude his daily life both personality and political career perspective.
He has his tough and convincing moment because the fraction of political powers is equally strong and the victor who those day mightily holding the scepter is beginning to lose diminishing dominion in his and political party quest to sustain the status quo.
Altantuya case.
Purchasing of the submarine.
Ignition of ISA on Raja Petra Kamaruddin.
PM personal jet plane.
Nuri Helicopter affairs.
It is no longer a public secret as these matters has been bridge out to the Malaysia people. The question how long can this matters be a rest? How can he handle the stewardship of Malaysian governing and administration as he deems view as a “leech” in that sense? Morally unsound and not an example to be look towards by the community in particular in the history of Malaysia by the children of this generation. Thinking of it has definitely raised a big “question mark” in redemption of his honor and dignity.
We Malaysian are confuse by certain selection on how this person be voted. The answer is prelimary preview in every mind of citizen is corruption, nepotism and cronyism.
Out of the confusion the solution is to vote them out in the coming series of
general election.
The case is rest…
“Please don’t hide those facts away.”
kickdefella rules.
“He is one of a kind, yes, yet he is only a man for his era.”
well said.
=)
Agreed..once, his late father chased away the malay from town/city into mid of jungle with his felda vision, and yesterday he start signal about to slowly stopping the NEP..
Simple fellas! Blaming UMNO and BN with fitnah etc does not make you any better than them. In all both side are actually having the same mentality.
So with all these accusations on Najib making Anwar any better with his sodomy case? Do you still believe that you could stop Najib from becoming the next PM?
Wake up! Nothing will change in the next 10 years. The best thing is to educate the young so that they’ll grow up to be a good politician. Ironically everybody’s attitude in this forum could not be served as a good example to them.
So sheh go kick yourself!!!!
ala.. baca je la.. sekadar iklan jer.. nak komen.. komen.. tanak komen.. duk diam2.. ekhkehkheee
Mr Kickdefella,
I too voted BN in 2004, but now we rakyat are more intelligent, if this so called new PM failed my expectation, I will not hesitate to vote any Tom , Dick and Harry so long as these people can deliver new Msia…..so UMNO please reform yourself or go and fly kite! Its ashamed that Islam Hardhari promote so much corruption in UMNO, bye bye UMNO see you in hell!

Aku undi pembangkang dulu tapi sekarang PKR sama DAP dah kencing PAS. PRU 13 no more votes for racist DAP..To hell DAP and PKR.
Betultak ?
najis n anwar sama jek…

Is outcome of Munawar’s appeal indicative of what we can expect from Zaki Azmi…new Boss of the Malaysian Judiciary
Chief Justice Zaki Azmi beginning to throw his true colours…
Will he be able to be INDEPENDENT of UMNO and his past friends, and be able to be concerned only with justice…
Will he be a progressive judge only concerned with JUSTICE – not fearful of developing the law so that justice be done…or will he just remain a tool of UMNO and his ‘old friends’.
Also noted that Zaki Azmi was a businessman with involvement in a string of companies – and if so, he must recuse himself from any case involving those companies and/or related companies or even companies whereby his once fellow member of the Board of Directors or management is involved.

Malays are an important part of Malaysia. One leader or another will not mean the end of Malays. It is important that ALL Malays benefit from our Merdeka, not just a few getting APs and the lie.
If Anwar is honest, he could really help Malays become global citizens, clean, successful and comfortable…something that UMNO has failed to do. Malays are the most caring people in the world.
We must look after the weak in our society, not suck their blood like some of those corrupt people including non-Malays) who have passed through our Governments. Voting for PKR, PSM, etc does not mean that Malays will be weakened. Malays are also joining the DAP which wants to be for all Malaysians. Malays will change and adapt to succeed, I am sure
Of course Najib can do it..bring M.sia back to its glory days just like under the great old man. What Najib needs to do is simple..just put back all those elements in their proper place..tell them to shut up..if they are not happy they can leave for good..he he hidup Najib
Dear Sheikh
Your conclusion that BN will soon be ‘jurasic’ is spot on but your analysis lacks many important elements to support that conclusion. One such element is the voters acceptance of BN itself. It had been analysed elsewhere that the ‘tipping voters’ (who decide which party wins the election) are the fence sitters.
The fence sitters in majority of parliamentary seats are non-Malays. Malays are equally divided between PAS and UMNO. So they cancel out each other. The winning votes comes from non-Malay votes.
This is especially ture in the last election. And 5 states went to Barisan Alternatif now rebranded as Pakatan Rakyat (PR).
One analysis suggested that the non-malays are naturally alligned to the opposition. This explains why in many non-malay majority areas – DAP will always be voted in.
It would seem that non-malays dont buy into this social contract stuffs. What kept BN in its strong position for so long was the fear of social and economic strife if the BN (reads malays) were to lose power. However, this fear is no longer around. After the drubbing received by the BN in the last election – the malays behaved very well and no trouble ever erupted. With this event, the FEAR evaporated into thin air.
You can expect the fence sitters (reads non-malay) will not be voting BN – ever. With that, no matter what UMNO does will not matter. Voters will be sending more and more PR reps to praliament. With that PR will form the government. And with that – even UMNO stallwarts – will abandon their political ship. And with that you have to visit some museun to read about the BN.
woi admin bastard…sheikh keji…accept la my comment nih…nape xnak accept??takut sgt ke??that’s wut democracy is all about??wtf sheih..u r disgusting…
koruption, money politiks, mis-management, arrogant, pak tidur, kapal selam, helikopta, apa apa saja le ….semuanya boleh selesai dalam sekelip mata. kita mampu bantu si najis ni “revamp” dengan btul.
Tumbangkan jer satu penggal di pilihanraya, pasti semua rebut2 hendak “berkhidmat” degan btul-betul kelak.
Dah lama pilihanraya lepas pon, apa yang kita nampak? rebut jawatan. lawatan sambil belayar ke taiwan, counseling utk saiful, ISA RPK, tangkap shiekh, kes sodomy II, monsoon cup, beli helikopter, minyak naik, tidur lagi.
