Malaysian Walk With US – L2R – ShanghaiStephen, Marina, Mulah (partly hidden), Jeff, Rocky, Sheih, Nuraina and Zorro
Being Sheih is not easy. My great great grandpa was traced back to Bukhara
Desert and please I beg you not to ask me where it is. My arwah father used to show me the map but I always took it for granted that I always can refer to him in regards of the geography.
Somewhere along the line, one Syed by the name of Karim sailed from India to
Penang with his Indian wife. Syed Karim AlBukhary later settled down in Klang. He is the father of my grandpa, whom later took a job in the Kota Bharu General Hospital where he soon became a legend. He was known as Abiq Razak. Fierce but wise.
The trishaw peddlers in Kota Bharu always shared with me their encounter with Abiq Razak who was a dresser. They said, if you meet Abiq Razak, you can be cured just by hearing his lecture on how to live a hygienic life. To be honest, I knew my grandpa well, he will scream at you and your fever will run away.
When Abiq Razak moves to Kota Bharu, my father is still very young. As Abiq Razak was a good man, everybody would love to send his or her children to stay at his house. One lucky kid, was my mother.
She suffered a tragic life. Her mother and her father died 12 hours apart due to typhoid. The authority burned down her house. My mother and her siblings had to be separated. Two were sent to remote part known as Kuala Krai (this is in the late forties) and two other to an island.
As my mother recalled, my father would always ask my mother to wash his shirt and said, when you grow up, I shall marry you. One day my father disappeared after an argument with my grandpa. Only for him to return two years later as a handsome young man in military uniform. My dad kept his promise. He married my mother and took her almost everywhere in Malaya and Malaysia. My father served the military for almost thirty years. Life was hard for both of them.
Early in their marriage, my father had to fight the Emergency. Towards the end of their marriage, my father struggling fighting the Insurgency.
When I was two years old, my father was posted to South Vietnam as the Military Attaché. I had to admit, there were many flying saucers in our house. I used to watch the saucers flying and our dinner ended hitting the ceiling. My mum cried a lot. We cried a lot. My dad cried a lot too, just that he did his crying deep inside.
Life is difficult for my dad because he is a man who would stand his ground. The military top men did not like it. Once he and his platoon was ambushed in Rajang River. Half of his platoon was mutilated by the Northern Kalimantan bandits. The ambushed was meant for my father but only for him to become a spectator because his longboat took a detour to check on an intelligent report of a sighting at nearby village.
Arrived at the scene, moments later, my father took a chase. He went after the bandits although he was ordered to stay behind. He was the Commanding Officer of The First Renjer not a spectator.
However, the military believed that he serves the country better by being a spectator rather than being a trophy for the bandit. After that incident, he was ordered back to MINDEF.
My father, even until his last breath, remains a fighter not an ass kisser.
At the end of his military career, he was left fighting for his pride. When others get to enjoy the snow in Europe, he was sent to enjoy the war-torn Saigon. His Camelot crumbled so as ours, and soon we ceased to become a family anymore.
The five years old me, sat on my mum’s lap when my father sign the divorce paper. This was his word, you can have my pension, and you can have the kids, just give me my life.
I did not cry, only many years later I realized the effect of the incident. Then I cried a lot. Not having a father in 1970’s was a big deal. My schoolmate teased me because my report book signed by my mum. They laughed at me because only my mum attended our sports day. They took every opportunity to make me think that I am not normal just because they have their dad and I did not.
I grew up determined not to be the father I hardly knew.
The last ten years of his life, my father was left fighting to love me. Unfortunately, I am a father myself and struggling to make a living. I find no time for him. He would call me every alternate day. Some time I answered it, most of the time, I just ignore it.
When I answer it, this shall be our routine conversation,
“Hi Azidi, how are you” “I’m fine Bah, thank you”. Silence. “Apa cerita Azidi?” “Tak da cerita Bah”. Silence. “How are the kids doing?” “They are fine Bah, thank you”. Silence. “How is my lovely daughter in law?” “Lovely as ever Bah, thank you”. “Azidi, why don’t you bring them over for makan-makan this weekend?” “Sorry Bah, we already had other plan, thank you”.
After more silent, my father will always said this “Any way, drop by anytime okay” “I shall Bah” “Okay Azidi, I love you” “Me too Bah, bye”.
When I narrated this incident in my class, the whole class started to tears.
My father suffered a heart attack when I was watching Suzuka Formula One Grand Prix in 2001. He died two weeks before Suzuka Formula One Grand Prix, two seasons later.
I bathed him and performed the last rites.
Almost a year later, while scrolling the phone numbers in my mobile, I came across his number. I do not know for what reason I actually called that number. Nevertheless, that day, I surely did. How I wished he is still alive and I will give him the chance to be my father.
Damn!
Did I say how determined am I, not wanting to be him?
Today, as I walked with Bro Rocky, Jeff, Sis Marina, Nuraina, Bro Monsterball, Mulah, Sang Kelembai, David Beckham, Zorro, Shanghai Stephens, Kuda Ranggi and many more, the memory of a father, I ceased to have struck me.
As I watched Rocky and Nuraina working on their laptop in Austen Chase, I asked myself, am I a spectator or am I a fighter? I know for sure, I am not an ass kisser.
Pak Lah and Khairy will think I serve my country better by being a spectator. I wonder what my father would think if ever I have him on the other line.
“Hi Bah, how are you?” “I’m fine Azidi… where have you been?” “I was away Bah, forgive me, but now I’m back, and I love you” “I know Azidi, I know, I love you too” “Bah, may I ask you for an advice?”
I know for sure, he who chooses to live his life as a fighter will have a good piece of advice for me.

Bukhara is in Uzbekhistan, sheikh. By any chance do u belong to the same clan as Syed Mokhtar? I notice that isnt too many al- Buhkary around
😀 stay strong bros!
Bukhara and Samarkhand are the two ancient citeis which were part of the famous “Silk Route”. It is thru this route that paper came to be known to the outside world. Though it was invented by China around bout 2thousand years ago, due to the insular nature of her civilization, it was only untill the 12hundreds did it reached Europe thru Andulusia and of course the Silk route–the famous historian JM Roberts cites this as an example of the permeable nature or openess of the civilizations that arose under the aegis of Islam.
Btw, the arrival of paper to Europe thru Andulusian Spain, acommpanied by the introduction of the institution of the University, another muslim import, mark the the beggining of the end of the Dark Ages in the West. In a sense the contribution of Andulusia Spain to the West allowed for an intellectual explosian in Europe which was fundermantal in giving birth to the Renaissanse and her entry into the Modern age.
That’s why if you happen to come across for Routleged Encyclopedia titled, “the History of Western Philosophy” it actually considers Islamic spain as an integral aspect of Western Civilization.
Bro.Sheih……It was an honour and pleasure to meet you personally. Our exchange of thoughts were most interesting.
Your post today touches all loving hearts….including mine.
The foundation of your good… noble and charitable character is there….intact and secured. Everybody simply respect and love you….and I am the lucky one to have found your site.
Of all your post…..this is the most touching i came across.
Somehow…..there is a missing link in your life. I sincerely think …your father is there besides you….ALWAYS!!
Many who have similar experiences like you can trully understand your feelings writing the message…….but what are you trying to part to us bloggers??
To me…not important. Most important…lets move forward united. We are proud to stand by you today. That is the start of loyalty…I am able to relate too…and boy …..am I the lucky blogger. God Bless You Shieh!!
On occassion, even though a rarity, we get a glimpse of what’s inside him. No, not about Sheih, but you monsterball. Before you getting all fired up to launch your next attack on me for saying this, I meant this as a complement and not to polish your balls.
This is one of the warmest and most touching stories I have heard for a long, long while. Makes me feel how fragile I am as a human but with a good feeling inside.
Sheih, you’re da man! Way to go.
Bro Sheih,
Very touching….. Yes you are right..

“SOMEBOBY UP THERE LIKES ME” acted by Paul Newman……..have you and Shieh seen this classic film before…story line similar to “Cinderlaa Man”
God bless you ms june.
sheih, I like the slogan “Agi Idup, Agi Ngelaban”. It’s a very appropriate slogan, relevant to the case. That’s the fighting spirit of the Iban Warriors. We’re all behind you for this fight. Idup Bloggers!!!
I was very touched by the picture posted on jeffooi.com and this blog on the bloggers walking to Wisma Denmark.
You guys(from various race) had break the barrier that the government had setup and that is divide and rule and give a whole new meaning of the word “muhibbah”.
Syabas!
Dear Sheih,
You have touched many hearts today. Thank you for everything our dear warrior Sheih.
Bro Sheih, you are indeed a true blue worrier who fights for what he stands for. I only wish I have half the time and energy to emulate your quest.
For one, I know you stand for righteousness, no religion, no gender, no race!
Salute!
THE MAGNIFICENT 8.
It’s indeed the true Towering Malaysians striding side-by-side!
Sorry Sheih, just saw your blog on the Tour De Force ‘Walk with Us’ message.
hehehe …you guys with Cerut (ti) very funny leh!
anyway looks like you guys (gals also) having a ball at W.Denmark this morning!
never seen so many happy faces going to court!
Shieh, twas a great honor walking tall with all of you….and knocking glasses with you last night. Taking this opportunity to announce the maiden posting of zorro-unmasked.
I’m touche bro. I m proud to be part of your “perjuangan”

Sheih,
I’ve always considered your poster parodies as truly works of art and ingenuity. Your earlier ‘inner sanctum’ narratives were of ‘lesser’ standards but it would appear that you’re built from sterner stuff. Hence, today’s anecdote shows your literary brilliance as well.
Please accept my heartfelt thanks for writing this particular piece because I will add it to the list of other constant reminders of my dad. He’s 83 and still with me.
…………………………………………………………………..
Akedemi Monstersia,
Thanks for the brief historical background on Bukhara.
Since you like reading and mentioned in the previous post about wanting to know more about the cases, it is in fact available at one particular blog. However, I’m hesitant to put up the url here for a variety of reasons. Therefore, may I leave you with a clue – Look for the mouse.
Good luck and happy reading.
Victoria been so jealous of anything Malaysian since I got into the Rebecca Loo’s misundertanding …. hehehe … never admit … ever!
She must have known I was gonna join the other Malaysian bloggers this morning.
When I got back from training yesterday evening, she gave me a good “dinner” in bed. Ohhh lalala what a desert.
Damn late nite “supper”! In bed also!
Damn “early breakfast” in bed! Yes without the trays.
You see I was so exhausted and over spiced to get up in the morning. But spiritually, I was with you’ll. Yes, walk with us.
You know how it is dealign with these celebrities, Monsterball. Halle Barry?
On a serious note.
Seeing Monsterball pix on Screenshot, must apologise for being too straight forward to an elder person. Not an Asian thing to do.
Nevertheless, we will continue to agree to disagree.
We will be united in this cause and set aside our differences. Perhasp by the time we get back to our differences, we deal with it in a better manner.
P/S Shieh I need a crash course in diplomacy.
now i know how monsterball-sheih’s-die-hard-fan looks like! 😀

Dear Sheih,
I know some AlBukharis back home in Kedah. One of them is now the tycoon. Any relations?
I’m very touched with your writing this time. I’m an old man myself, and I always try to be closed to my kids and their kids as much as I can. I still have a father and I think I’ll call him right after this.
I envy you and the guys for sticking out thru thick and thin. I hope I have half of your strength. God bless.
When can we see a movie version of this story ?
Would be a shame not to share it with a wider audiences.

aiseh..i dun like sad/touching story in the morning…
heh…me always extra sensitive when it comes to relationship between a father/mother and their childrens.
aiya…sheih,
Read the stuff. What strikes me again and again since I first started reading ur blog is your honesty.
Similar questions of being a spectator or fighter have been haunting me for years and the voices are getting louder.
When conscience starts speaking, there is little we can do to ignore it. Its just a matter of courage my friend, and u are demonstrating it aplenty.
Salut!
Salaam Bro Sheih,
Interesting how we have some things in common.
My anchestor also came from that land of the fierce Mongols Uzbekistan.. but from Samarkand. My father also fight in the insurgence.. and he passed away in 2003.
So it came to be that we can never be ass-kissers but fighters. We can’t afford to be spectators in this on-going drama of espionaging the country by the Kerajaan Anak-Beranak.
We need to kickdefellas!
Jom, karaoke The Living Years, Sheih! And wring all the tears from within us, the Prodigal Children! BTW, Klang kat Teluk Menegun ke?
Hi Sheih,
Wonderful sharing you have there on your father.
We’ll never know what effect an experience will have on us in the future even though it is bad. But reading your piece on your father, it seems that the more you try to be NOT like him the more you BE like him, a fighter. Still, I don’t think you’ll standby to be a spectator.
This country need to come out of her slumber, out of her inprisonment of abuse. And we need astute fighter like you.
Keep walking, bruder…we all are walking together one way or another, towards justice and peace.
Regards,
Moses
bro sheih (and others!),
it was most certainly my pleasure meeting you 🙂 and yeah, i’m semi-allergic to smoke. hehe.
and yes, Akedemi Monstersia, pop over to my site and download the full statements of claims.
cheers!
Dear Sheih,
When you miss your father, all you have to do is to look at yourself and you’ll be comforted. The subtext bro is: Memang anak Ayahndanya yang sejati! Kemana tumpahnya kuah… etc etc.
Dear Mr Ball,
As Hani said, you’re no monster. You look like one feisty Gramp! And check out that stogie… maaan… classy lah! 😀
I’m also with Voice in hanging my head with shame for the tone I took with you before. It’s just so not us Asians to disrespect our seniors (unless they are treacherous rogues who let us down). Now that a face has been put to that ballsy monicker, I think some of us here can understand your take on things a little better. We may still not agree with you sometime, but now we dig! 😉
Dear Marina & Noraina [if you are reading],
You lovely ladies do us Malaysian sisters so very der proud.

Segala yang berlaku ada hikmahnya. I still have both my parents but I lost a daughter last year. That is how I know segalanya bukan sia-sia.
hi everybody! Good afternoon. Thanks to those who have kind words for me. I am deeply touched. For those who disagree with me…please continue …maybe with a touch of respect to your opponent..like a debate? No opposition….our country is dead!! So continue my fellow Malaysian citizens.
I was thinking how did oppositions became succeesful . How did DAP wins so much votes? How did Gandhi freed his country? How did Mendella did same for South Africa…all these against huge huge powerful controlers.
The name of the game is….JAIL ME….I DARE YOU!!
So on the two bloggers court cases…..fight and defy….create a mole into a mountain hill [UMNO is very good on that…why can’t we?}
From here…..I think you know what I am trying to hint at. Sheih how’s this idea eh?
Sooooo lets have coffee…few cigars and let monsterball blanja you brave bloggers….all together. One day notice is all I need.
Do not forget ‘politikus’…so cute. I asked her….which do you prefer “Old man’s darling or young man’s slave?” She replied “I’ve a boyfriend”…..I was thinking of my handsome moucho “monsterfrien’ …..not me. No luck pal.
And not to forget ‘ms june’….I wish I am ‘june Esq.” real smart and nice to read messages. We will walk with Shieh together…will we ‘ms june”….maybe holding hands together??
Zorro…my friend…unmasked finally. Me too!!
Pleasure to meet you….. and mullah …sitting besides me….ordering roti teloh and tea for me….a concerned and loving combrat in arms with Sheih. WE WILL ALL WALK TOGETHER WITH our Commander. GOD BLESS ALL BLOGGERS….BRAVE COMMENTERS[that’s me plus few!!.hahahaha} and forgive insitgators…..but give them hell{ very painful stomatch ache } when time is right. Amen.
Thank you, politikus, for the help.
Though i have to say, scrolling up and down 100 over pages of legal documents which constantly flickers is very tedious on the eyes!
Shar101, thank you also. Though i admit when u gave me the “mouse” hint i thought, what the hell is he talking about! I kept looking at my own mouse thinking is there a function that i didnt know about…man, oh man, I know I’m ignorant about so many IT related stuff but this one was really humbling!only later did i find out that it was actually refering to adik politikus….hahahhahaha, and that’s only when she introduced herself!
Hahahhaha i have to say I’m been shooting myself in the foot and pissing in my pants for nothing..humpf
To Monsterball,

Akedemi Monstersia and Politikus,
Despite our anonymities, there are no strangers here.
Only friends who we have not met.
Perhaps, one fine day we’ll actually meet and talk as if we’ve known each other for years.
Life can beautiful. Have faith in humanity.
As it is, Bloggers United is doing an excellent job on binding ethnic relations.
Monsterball
Saw your pics on Jeff’s blog this morning.
Well, had to admit that I felt apologetic with my un-tactful comments towards quite-an-old you in Sheih’s space.
Hope we can move forward for our better Malaysia and for the rights to express our opinions.
It takes me from lastmidnight up to this wonderful evening, just to upload all pictures taken yesterday. Thanks to …com for providing such a good 3G connection, paying RM100 per month just to make me going crazy sometime.
Thank you once again to uncle Monsterball for belanja me – nice to met you sir, although you’re combined with Zorro to bully me. I had a nice day. Thank you.
And again, nice to met Stephen, Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir, Zaharin, Sallehuddin, Syed Imran, Jeff, Rocky, Sheih, Nuraina, zorro and all. We shared the same beliefs.
I just sms our commander this morning, telling him how proud and excite i am. For more pictures, i inviting all to come to my blog. No harm. Looking at the picture above keep me saying “I’m the youngest”. Wow..
Glad to know that everyone had a great time.yeah, solidarity is great! wish i were there! though i was there in spirit, and in my thoughts, and in every word i say. either way, we have won. because now they fight us.remember gandhi?
hi Mullah…Nice to read your post. You can contact me like a real uncle….if you need some second opinion on any subject. You know….fatherly advise….etc…how to win a girl’s heart….how to succeed in working life…how to bullshit your uncle…anything..
Shieh has my number.
Sheih ….I propose Mullah take over from Yusof….since that guy no where to be seen. Like I said to you….Yusof will never abandon us. Must be very busy with new job? No time.
This means I am promoted to Sargent and mullah private frontliner….so he must ambil botek saya…..or otherwise I can give him hell. You know how we old soldiers are.
mullah….go see “Full Metal Jacket” war movie.
Keep well!!

oOoOohaAaaa!
Not that easy and not so fast to dislodge my position, monsterball. Am very much here, sitting quietly for a reason. I was away but never missed on watching all that was going on in here.
Today, am proud to say after reading all the postings, I knew it was just a matter of time for us all to come to this. As much as we differs in our opinions on so many things but yet, we STAND UNITED as one when it comes to championing a cause that we feel so strongly for.
That to me is what being a Malaysian is all about. We no longer see one another based on creeds and colours. We are ONE and the same. Enough of that divide and rule.
We were more tolerance back then when the country was still young but how sad as we approaching closer to become 50, we are looking at each other with so much distrusts and doubts.
Together, WE ALL can be the catalyst to bring back that spirit that made old Malaya and early Malaysia once a truly proud country. UNITY then wasn’t just a part of a slogan but a way of life. The life we all once shared and treasured.
Where some people need to play on the racial card for their survival, let us not be party to that and instead show them that we will not allow our beloved Malaysia to fall prey on their trap. Our future generations, your children, grandchildren and mine too are all depending on us to set the right course and to correct all the wrongs.
Nothing political about this, just we loving Malaysians demanding what our forefathers had envisioned and wanted all along when they were fighting for the country’s independent in their early days!
YUSOF!!! You son of a gun!! Wah…you only appear when someone about to take your place?? Soooooo nice to hear from you.
Suddenly…you put out such beautiful thoughts in words.
Our Commander must have fainted!!He gave you up……not me.
hi Commander…YUSOF IS BACK…..say something lah. Don’t tell me you are angry with your true prodigal son of your blog.
Go ….slaughter a lamb and celebrate…..be happy …he has return. All sins forgiven.

And again to all my young fellow Malaysians.
I am putting out few topics. You can add more. Now you have seen me…I want to part my sincere knowledge. Right or wrong…all done in good faith to hope you benefit from them. HERE GOES:
1. How to succeed in working life…general knowledge.
2. How to succeed as a sales person. Hard selling….not counter or retailers…but can lso advise if requested.
3.What is love?
4.What is right attitudes? Why so important?
5.Why am I suffering?
PLEASE…THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MY RELIGION OR BELIEFS . I READ NO SUCH BOOKS ON SALES OR ANYTHING …BUT BASED ON EXPERIENCES AND COMMONSENSE.
You can add more and I WILL TRY TO ANSWER.
I think besides blogging…..many young bloggers may have no one to teach or guide them…..so I try my best…okay??
Do not be shy. Maybe Shieh will be kind enough to allocate a blog just for this type of discussions….never ending one.
God bless . Thanks

Why not use your sweet ‘aimee’ blog name?…too many anone.
I have been to lovely Miri donkey years ago…..where the plane landed near the hotel I stayed. I heard it is now a huge city.
People are sure friendly in your city. Take care.
But meanwhile Yusof..you are the still the sargent and I am below you. How sad…..but that’s life.
But I don’t mind….as long as you do not cuti cuti so much and leave me lone as frontliner…..not fair lah.
Now where is COMMANDER??
Shieh….I noticed Rocky….Jeff and you wore blue shirts and black pants. Jeff said it is a co-incident……is it??
Not ‘cuti-cuti Malaysia’ monsterball, but down south helping out with whatever and whereever I can. Am wondering now if we could utilize Bloggers Unite! for a volunteer mission to help out the flood victims. Still so much to do and so much we all could help.
Most noble job! All very proud of you…I am sure. I do not think so on your idea…but if you can leave a contact like address or HP …where to contact you in JOHORE…Sheih and I will appeal to people to help you.
Await your full Johore contact point and HP #.
Tell us clearly what you need? I heard so many groups are there already. Are you sure not enough?……..yea maybe few remote areas. ..here and there with few houses…..not noticable…..that is what the details we need.
Each time it rains here…..beleive me Yusof…thousands are praying for Johore people. We feel helpless on such natural disasters. We do not have the manpower or money to do much.
I hope you will remain/be a fighter too, just like your father.
Yes, I must also say I felt bad about throwing some rotten eggs at Monster at the movies now knowing he is an elder hehehe
But so cool Monster is blogging 🙂
But Monster I hope we can still say our difference lah.. if I feel you are wrong, I will say it as it is still but now with more tact 🙂
But I shall continue menghentam the current HP6 Kerajaan Anak Beranak until they BERUNDUR.
Too much harm has been done to this beloved country of ours ):
/Teja (previously posting as Anon on this blog)
Yusof…After pondering I hesitated to phone Sheih on the Johore flood matter. As much as we like to help….not everything we bloggers or commenters can do. Even if we collect alot of money or have few dozen helpers…we do not have the experience where to start.
So back to each on his own and what you are doing….what can I personally help you…that’s ll for now. Take care.
tega…..You go ahead and say what you trully feel on any subject. Like I said….if we all agree…Malaysia will be non progressive.
Thanks.
We need volunteers to help out with the cleaning up of victims houses due to the aftermath. I believe where the foodstuff is concerned, many individuals and corporations have come forward to provide.
What is lacking is ‘brute force’, i.e human strength to do the actual cleaning up job. Most that already came can only do it during the weekends and stay up to 2 days the most since they have to rush back to KL to work comes Monday.
Many houses are still affected, with water level up to knee high due to houses standing on a low level land without no outlet for the water to flow out. That was few days ago and by the time the water dries up (depending on the weather), the house owners would need all the help they can get to clean their houses. And this will be an ongoing task.
Please be generous with your time and energy. Those victims are really in dire need for help, especially if the household consist of only the father with small children, single mom or old folks without any able-bodied adult staying with them. The victims have their own trauma to deal with, so getting help from their own neighbours for now would be impossible since all of them were affected.
My apology Sheih, to use your space to seek for volunteers! Nothing like being there to see it for yourself to truly know how traumatized those people are.
Let me quote on what Marina Mahathir wrote in her Musings column in yesterday’s The Star to drive home my point;
“Seeing other people come and help has made some of them feel they are remembered and cared about, but the help must be sustainable and long term.”
Yusof….Where are you?? How do volunteers contact you? Your details noted.
I do not know. I have put out many messages on flood matters at other sites..weeks go. Each time I read from papers….giants like MayBank sent out boats and human powers and the Red Cross Cresent huge van came to my area to collect clothes and blankets….now says more than enough.
I guess they are focussing on saving lives…feeding and clothing the victims and medical attention as priorities.
Yes….I read few sad cases…old folks cleaning their houses……lost everyhing and the flood came back and they redo it all over again. Putting differences aside…are you happy with what you see the government is doing there? No matter what..we Malaysians are generous and concerned people….so I do not beleive our government is not doing their best there.
Pehaps cleaning up houses is not so important than focusing after effect possible diseases and dangerous water nakes/crocodiles swimming around. Lives are not lost with flooded houses…..snakes and few water swimming type of creatures may kill lives.
So focus on saving lives Yusof and pray we have few months dry weather at Johore to see flood totally gone in Johore.
I really feel helpless and sick…..cannot help you.
okay Yusof…You have spoken loud and clear quoting what Sis.Marina said. Are you hinting….to everyone do as they can do without leaving your address or HP point of contact? Make it clear …so that possible volunteers know what to do..Each on his/her own to do their best? Is that what you are saying?
Once again….your personal noble act is much to be admired.
monsterball, we are talking about the aftermath here. I am talking about what we, collectively can do to bring in a little hope for them. When you said “Pehaps cleaning up houses is not so important than focusing after effect possible diseases and dangerous water nakes/crocodiles swimming around.” then I have to correct you on that part.
Do you know why so many victims are still staying at the relief centers? Is it because they liking it there and enjoying themselves? They can’t go home because their houses are in a mess, with mud as thick as the yellow pages phone book directory!
Saving lives is not my area of expertise monsterball but I certainly know having seen the real situation there, what I can do to help. I volunteered and make myself available to those organizers. And I am calling all of you reading this to do the same. Don’t wait up for them to reach out to you, you do that on your own instead!
I understand…I really do…I leave it to Sheih to response..as I am truthfully helpless. I know everyone prefer to go home…even sleep on the floor…back to home sweet home. I read those sad cases. I cannot speak for others. As for me……I cannot do what you are doing…but I have done my part…no need to tell details.
Stay safe and lets hear Shieh’s opinions. Thanks.
And finally…..Anon 3.28pm….rebbit kmu…..anon 10.19pm…..Many thanks.
See you all later..l…..got to sleep.

Yusof,
I could not agree more with you on this. Last night I saw on RTM1 the interview with Dato Gani Osman, the Menteri Besar of Johor regarding the flood issue.
I was lucky to tune in there coz of receive a forwarded sms:
pls inform brothers, cousinghs n relatives, that GHANI is appearing on tv1 TONITE AT 8:30 PM at rtm direct telecast, pls watch. he needs support. Jamilah.
It turn out it was actually from his wife.
After the interview, I realised the predicament we underwent like the expected 20,000 victims turn out to be 105,000. What about the second wave?
A subsequent sms came in shortly:
Dear bloggers please help Johor MB to help his people with your comments. Time to use your positive influencing powers.
This one wasn’t from Datin but the sender himself.
I gave a short “can do” respond.
The MB was sincere to admit weakness and shortcoming during the first wave. He needs help to help others. The man has admitted much and need help. – Sender.
How about it bloggers? Lets take a short lapse from crucifying Kali & his band of devils to promote a positive atmosphere on an issue of national interest.
BTW, I had posted a new entry in my blog yesterday. Excerpt of the blog entry, “We Shall Overcome: Many Voices, Many Initiatives, No Party Politics” below:
In the nutshell, I proposed the following:
Use of blogging to get around the misuse of legal injunctions to curtail freedom of expression.
Encourage blogging to promote citizen journalism and a powerful watchdog mechanism with the caveat that it is done responsibly.
Provide a platform for aggregating socio-political, socio-economic and public interest blog, complimented with archiving and search ability.
Mechanism to overcome the diminishing coverage of issues that is characteristic in print and television media due to competition for media space.
Complimenting the information dissemination and public discussion fucntions with actual citizen action group.
Stress the need to maintain a “civil society” approach and refrain from partisan politics.
A voice is not enough. It takes many voices.
We shall overcome some day

Feels good …to know that bloggers are united regardless of colour & creed in this fight to uphold justice.
Feel proud to be among you guys…true Malaysians.
Dear All,
Thanks for all the posting. Just like what my Dear Monty posted, I asked him to relay the message regarding my inability to access the net.
However, here I am now. I have met my Bro Monty over mutton curry, he he he. We discuss about lots of issues posted here. Let me attend to it,
Hi Bro Yussof, nice to hear from you. Regarding the flood in Johore, its truly a sad situation. I have one of my student still stuck somewhere down there. Bloggers United, through some of the participating blogs have posted a lot of issues pertaining to the matter. Our members have tried to rally for support, material and physical. Sis Marina herself have been keeping a watchful eye on the situation.
I will not use my blog to tackle the matter. I had to agreed with Monty and few other commenters that we do not have the expertise on the matter. However, we been contacting and supporting other blogs which religously highlighting the matter. Please pay those blogs a visit, and Sis Marina’s as well. Post your support and suggestion there. We bloggers have to work on the matter that in line with our expertise so we do not become a rojak blog. Although I never posted anything directly to the flood, but I have been keeping watchful eye on the matter by following those blogs that highlight it. I trust, many of us including me have support this cause and will continue supporting it.
To my dear A Voice, thanks for the sms and comment. I am not sure how to help MB Ghani but I will do what I know best, the way I know best. MB Ghani will always have my support to tackle the ‘act of god’ in Johore.
To my dearest Politikus,
I hope you have a good bath and smells not like ashtray anymore. he he. Its good if you could blog using your own name. However keep the nic politikus because it already became your brand. Just do like what I am doing. Keeping Sheih kickdefella but people know who I am. Nevertheless, the choice is always yours and only yours. That’s too many other factors you need to consider.
I shall be back online by tomorrow.
Thanks for the comments, and let us make this one big happy family. What happen in a big family? We argue a lot, we disagree a lot but we keep our respect a lot too. So, let the ball continue to roll.
Roger and out.
Poiltikus…..Don’t listen to Sheih!! Your blogging name is soooo cute… like you!!
However….he may be right……your real name is even cuteter…hahahaha
And seeing you personally….knowing you are single…so sexy and refereshing…I thought you might like to meet “monsterfrien”…handsome available old man….real he-man type…but you are already booked!!
Sheih told me you complaint about our cigar smells. In conclusion…..stick to your blogging name..so that your real name is for your darling boyfriend only. Best personal regards.
Politikus,
Monty is right, your blogging name is really cute…
Anyway, in my opinion , i dont think its important whether u use your real name or not…after all what is written is more important than who wrote them. Any reasonable and responsible person will be able to verify whether what was written was balanced and reasonable or a load of poppycock.
Some people say that using your name will mean u are responsible for what u say..it will make u accountable. But u can say nonesense even if u use your own identity, but of course, then u will be responsible for your irresponsibility.
Yet there exist instances when a person uses his identity not to be responsible but rather to engange in precisely the opposite!
His or her identity and the reputation that hinges on it will give the that person the ability to confer abit of prestige to an irresponsible act- remember the book titled Shit! written by an ex Sastrawan Negara which contained so many profanities that one would think it camed from an ex-graduate of The Henry Gurney school of hard knocks!
Yet because it was wriiten by someone whose identity was known for being respectable and responsible, it recieved some measure of following..so in this instance the identity of the person was used to to give more credibility to an irresponsible act..if written by an average joe, it would just have been dismised for its title which was a load of “SHIT”
Apart from that, our identity’s are our own, and alot of other responsibilities hinged on it. In our lives, blogs are not the only thing that we are responsible for and it is not the only measure of a persons responsiblity.
In fact, if in the name of being responsible, u do decide to use your real name, yet it compromises your other responsibilities in life, than such an act will be an irresponsible act.
Again one must remember, to alot of people blogging is just one responsibilty among many competing responsibilties and because they are responsible they cant allow it to take a position of preeminance.
In such a situation, keeping your identity private, is not an irresponsible act but rather, precisely, because one IS responsible.
Only the person concerned can make that call.
Anyway, even if we limit the discussion of what constitutes a responsible blog, our identity is just one element in that process and to me a secondary one. More important is the quality of the blogs content..in the final analysis it will define whether the blog was responsible or not, reagrdless of whether the owner’s identity was revealed or remained anonnymous.
POLITIKUS!
Some people ( GORMENT) say that blogs whose id are unknown is like a “penembak curi” or a snipper to borrow kickdefella’s jargon.
Of course, they are not referring to blogs as a whole, but only to thoses that are critical of them! The term of “penembak curi” is used to discredit those blogs because it will suggest that those bloggers are irresponsible and cowards!
( that’s a very brave statement to make, especially comming frm individuals who have a whole array of birokratik apparuts to punish their opponents…hahahaha)
But one must ask the question” is it true that such bloggers are penembak curi and hence irresponsible?”
If a blogger is talking cock can he actually discredit anyone at all, what more the formal athourities? Can a blogger who is talking cock have any following or influence anyone, esp from a sophisticated audience?
In other words, if a blogger is is talking nonesense ,is he actually discrediting himself or those he attacks?
To say that a blogger is a penembak curi, is to suggest that the blogger has got bullets ( arguments) that are real enuf to harm- In other words the arguments of a penembak curi are credible that’s why it can influence sophisticated audiences.
So a “penembak curi” can only do the damage of a “penembak curi”, if his arguments are plausible and responsible…So when anyone refers to an anonymous blogger as a “penembak curi” is that an accusation of the persons lack of credibilty or is it actually, inadvertantly admiting, that the blogger is credible and by extansion responsible and hence beleivable?
Another question to consider….Do popular blogs become popular, because they SHAPE our opinions or do they become popular because they REFLECT them?
Politkus, i dont know if what i wrote is of any relevance to what you wrote, but i think in both obvious and subtle ways, it does. Anyway, by asking certain questions,i just think there issues that deserve our attention.
polytikus..Commander….afterall maybe right!
poly….sound like a plastic resin
tikus…small mouse
soooo your names is plastic baby mouse??.
He really loves you.
Was you inspired by pulau tikus? Did you have fond memories there? If so…who cares…stick to blogger name….whatever…..still a well chosen cute name. LOL
Ah I see……You love a hamster……very close relation to a mouse…. so how can polihamster…not a cute lady blog name. …right?
You plenty smart to choose politikus lah….daily remembering your hamster at home.
Or maybe you nickname your boyfriend..tikus….always tickling you and cute himself?
Again…..don’t change blog’s name that makes a nut like me going more nutty to figure you out. LOL
hheemmm anonymous appear again. You know whose message is above don’t you?
lol. oh my goodness, thank you all so much for the input!
*glows at the warmth of that thought*
i guess i have toyed with the idea of using my real name … my goodness, i can become so popular sial and my stats would go way up and be one of those ‘prominent’ bloggers eh? but then people may start expecting things out of me, being unable to disassociate my personal blog with my professional capacity as a journalist, judging and criticising me out of spite etc. telling people my name if they want to know on a personal basis is no problem, but not for mass consumption macam public execution saja.
plus, i also want days where i can just blog about my PMS or how i spent too much on ebay without people expecting me to solely blog about politics. i want the flexibility and the freedom. i don’t want to live up to standards that people set for me.
and from the comments above i gather you are all supportive of whether i do or do not go public with my real name. and above all else, what matters is that i blog, i won’t stop and i ain’t scared.
monsterball: i like politics and somehow the name politikus just came to me when i needed a nickname 🙂 and no, i haven’t been to pulau tikus. but i did come across this 🙂
thank you all again.
p/s: mutton curry? eee, i like.
i like this water cooler!

Yes, to a women it’s important o talk about her pms..oink..oink..and i agree, its easier to talk about pms if one remains anon. Myself, i prefer to remain anon, not because i suffer from p.m. syndrome rather than s.m. syndrome
Ok over and out.oink..oink
OOPs silap sentance structure. Instead, it should read———“Myself i prefer to reamain anon, not because i suffer from p.m.syndrome but rather beacuse i suffer from s.m.syndrome”
For anyones information, in s.m.sydrome, the ‘s’ stands for sexy and ‘m’ stand for male
dear politikus….you must blog here more often. Just your blog name brings out the joy and happiness we all need from time to time.
I forgot to tell all of you…..I challenged Sheih to a liitle bet that he does not know which blogger have few names in his site…..totally different blogger name. Mullah once suspected me as one….remember?
We took out a paper and wrote the names and exchange to read. I LOST THE BET!! SAME NAMES AS MY LIST!!
I will not reveal “the truths” Why spoil HIS fun.
Nevermind noble commentators……like Sheih said…we are one family….just one prefer to be ghost riders…that’s okay as long as harmless….and as long as that person know we who he is. Sheih’s Frontliner…..remember??
God bless all commentators and SHEIH.
He quickly phoned up his family and said he won big bet from an idiot commentator to celebrate. Sometimes I really hate our commander’s smartness..
My god, monty u suspect on others the same thing that mullah suspect on U..the one that really got u upset??My, my……how ironic.
I also know some people who post on this blog with the same IP address as me….more than one infact
Message to all beloved young MALE commentors/readers…with love:
Nevermind you are poor or rich. The richness of a person is judge by his personality…meaning when one talks to you….they can quickly identify you.
Successful personality…no two ways about it…..through a productive working career/job …..recognised and respected.
be it a gardener….road sweeper or branch manager or clerk …anyone. You respect others ..get their names right because you want them to get your name right…have manners..say good morning not only to your boss…but fellow workers.
So choose your labels. Do you want someone to say.’ah that guy…hard working bloke and very honest with good manners” OR “that guy?? errgggg troublesome fellow. Keep far away from him”
I trained my servicing guys to have good manners and respect the person he is dealing with…mostly ordinary clerks. I get feedbacks from customers …they are special and joy to deal with. Most are no so well educated..trully stubborn and with fear faces. Now they are smiling and hungry to be respected.
If I can contribute one out of a hundred readers to be successful applying such simple things in life…..I am well rewarded. THANKS.
Akedemi Monstersia…I will appreciate you stop responding all the time…on my posts… as you can see….I have kept quiet and ignored you all the time….which means…I do not welcome you ….but respect you as fellow commenter…..okay? thanks.
I agree and second what Monty said.
Someone wise said “If you respect others than respect will also come back to you” That means even if we dont agree with some one we should avoid throwing insults like “Idiot!”,”extremist!” or asking people who u dont agree with “to go to Mt or other sites”
Also we should avoid accusing others of commiting offences unless u have verified their identities first..not just based on an assumption.
Actaully treating people with respect is the responsibilty of both old and young. It doesnt matter if u are so old that you were friends with T-Rex, brontosaurus or Ally Oop u must treat peoplw with respect.
Also the young must alwys respect the old and each other regardless of whether they are poor, ugly, female, male, Pak Lah or Joe Public.
Sorrylah Monsterball, i didnt realize that u were silent on me. U were?
Additionally i didnt know, that u didnt welcome me…I thought all your comments were directed to everyone who can read. U didnt write..”to everyone BUT Akedemi Monstesia.”
Even if u did not, unless I am using profanitie or insults ,i have a right to make comments on everything just like you. So long as its in the commen collum and visble to all then its up for grabslah..after all isnt a blog a discussion forum?
As far as i can tell, i have not been disturbing anyone at all…i have been polite..i try to impart knowledge sincerely and unselfishly. Ms June even say she appreciates my comments, so did Shar101 n maybe others also..dont want to brag.
So am very sorry. Cannot comply with that wish…but will always mantain respect and decorum while making comments with everyone.
Thank you. I hope u understand, Monty. Dont worry myself no hard feelings with what u write, ok?Hope it goes both ways.
Sometimes being anonymous, as in using a ‘nick’, means only one thing.
Some of us are not comfortable in gaining publicity and perhaps, the accolades that comes with it.
Some of us treasure our privacy which is only shared with loved ones.
If, however, politikus decides to write on personal stuff on her blog and share it with her readers, let us respect her need for privacy in the outside world.
Just imagine a ‘blur’ bloke walking up to politikus in public, asking “How’s your PMS condition today?”.
On the other hand, for socio-political bloggers like Rocky, Sheih and other gentlemen/lady bloggers of the same genre, it is incumbent for them to be as forthright with their identities as in their articles. For them, the emphasis will be in the messages being conveyed and in turn, the credibility that we, as readers, associate with their character(s).
And last but not least, a ‘whistle blower’ ain’t gonna use his/her real name on blogs when we know Big Brother is watching!
P.S. So what does ‘metrosexual’ mean?
Monty,
Sorry, my reply on Feb1st812 pm was written before ur post with the same date appeard. So pls dont c it as an example of me trying to be funny.
CHEERS and Allah bless all
To shar 101, metrosexual is by definition someone who doesnt read “Harian Metro”. Honest ! np metrosexual on earth worth his salt
will read Harian Metro
OK lah! I believe you, A.M.
*Turning around and dumping all copies of H.M. out the window. Phew! That was close.*
Sheih,
As a gesture of respect that this is your blog, and who know’s maybe u dont like the way i comment, if u want to say anything, here is my e-mail, constantcraving65@ yahoo.com. But pls if there any opinions of your which i think are not accurate, pls allow me to e-mail back my reply.
Salam and cheers

i in gandi land rite now but i jus wanna pass on my support from delhi n jus 2 say what u r doing is so important for freedom of speech n 4 all of the bloggers in malaysia
god bless u all 🙂
hey sheih,
good to see the bloggers in picture. good to know the ground is swelling with support.
your story about your dad is poignant. you are a good son, even if your dad didn’t know it. and you will be a good father, insyallah.
to politikus,
use your nick if you can’t use your own name. but when you use your own name, use it proudly. did you see zorro-unmasked? he uses his own name now but you don’t have to wait until you reach his age, ok?
agi idup agi ngalaban! idup bloggers!
dan, saya setuju, nuraina dan marina membakar jiwa dan raga!
lubok melayu: “nuraina dan marina membakar jiwa dan raga!”
Lest we forget, the other known feisty wira of Barisan Benteng Bloggers is Susan Loone.
Sue of course couldn’t be there physically but the spirit of that sister is so superstrong, I think I saw her astrally just to Zorro’s right, behind Nuraina .
Zorro, you must have felt her, right Sir? 😉
Hi, wondering …. as there is some similarity on your write up about your childhood in relation to your dad. Was this person your dad?
“The boat was adrift, after 20 minutes of drifting carried by the swift currents, no one was moving in that boat, except for Rgr Nawawi. This drifting boat by chance, came across the boat carrying their Commanding Officer, Lt Col Syed Abdul Aziz bin Syed Razak who was on his way from Song to Nanga Engkuah.”
http://7rangers.blogspot.com/2005/10/wo-2-lenggu-ak-china-seri-pahlawan.html
Dear Ranger Sir,
The late Lt. Col. (Rtd) Syed Abdul Aziz Syed Razak, The former Commanding Officer of 1st Ranger is a very good man and he is my Father.
…not only a good man, a very great legend in the Ranger Corps. I will send you an e-mail later.
hey Sheih…Glad to see you back!! Your new post
shar101 congratulated you on your birthday?
So on behalf of us all……..
A very happy birthday!! Enjoy yourself with your family outing. They deserve your attention too.
The Ranger above seems to know your great father well.Such like your father are the forgoten heroes that have contributed to what we are enjoying in Malaysia nowadays. Here we talk about Hang Tuah……then found out he maybe Han To Ah..a Chinese ..now stop the teaching of him at school history books….which confirms the latter is true. WHAT A JOKE!!
It seems..real heroes must be malays and a muslims….then UMNO will start their propagander machine to devide and rule……learnt from their master…British.
Why can’t they have true gratitudes feelings in their hearts and put out accurate… truthful history of our country and invite all the relations of past heroes of our country to a real 50th annversary Merdeka to a joyous party? They should include you and may I say boldly Chin Peng’s relatives…Sam Gupta’s from Seremban. Our country has been giving ROJAK history…full of shit too.
Please see no one make your site a ROJAK blog like MT. You know who I AM REFERING TO ..YOU WON THE BET!!
I have resisted and tolorated….you know who…thinking himself very smart to get me in a quarelling mood .When I POSTED like a good uncle with some advises to young turks of Malaysia…here he comes with his sacastic so call support to me. Is this a sincere commenter or one out to make this blog a ROJAK one? It will be one when I response LIKE HE WISHES ME TO.
Sure…if I have been asking for troubles…..sometimes I admit I do……then go ahead…give me the worst you can think of.. That’s not ROJAK.. That is battle with fun and pulling each other’ legs. And may I write CLEARLY TO ALL COMMENTERS….I am an appinted Fontliner by Sheih. This means I am alowed freedom to defend the site from anything I see no good. DOES ANYONE WANTS THE JOB?? TAKE IT!!That guy kept hinting the past ….as if I am an idiot..trying so hard to get me fired up to battle him. If I did…..will it be good for Sheih or me? He would have won his dirty cunning idiotic mission with actually no regards to trully respect Sheih at all..just washy wishy nice words from the mouth…..what will happen next………a ROJAK blog!! For such an old man talking like this…he can never have a good sincere heart….or is he actually a young man in disguise?..hahahaha
So reply your comments to A.Monstersia OPENLY…not by email…OPENLY…I BEG YOU. We have no secrets….remember?
I am not asking you to choose one of us must be out….I wish to say that actually…but one with few id’s …what can you do??
I will never blog under any name except my real or this one. Others are just accidentally done….not purposely.
Your call Sheih.
Gosh! I actually cried reading this.
After this i’m going to call mak and ayah.
Be strong, be a fighter. May Allah Bless You, insyaAllah.
Good to c your in good mood monty
And Monty, pls dont say i’m being sarcastic when i support u. U maybe old but u are not a telepath,ok?Just like u get alot of things wrong i’m sure ur mistaken again with regards to my intention.
I was sincere in supporting your advice for young people and i simply extanded that advice to old people also..And no where in my comments do i want to c this blog become a rojak blog…infact, if i remember correctly, previously, i pleaded with u to write as much as u want but just stick to the topic…u said u always stick to the topic, just that sometimes u like to pull a fast one…I said to myself “Monsterball must be right” so i followedYOUR example and pulled a joke now and then.
Maybe people dont like my jokes or comments…then i will try to make better ones. But judging from the feedback i get from some other commenters, i think they appreciate that i’m being sincere and unselfish in my comments.
Thank you, monsterball, for being kind and understanding. Salam my true “muslim” friend
PS- Btw, monty, when reading history texts, for example Hang Tuah, there are three types of historical sources that one must keep in mind
1)Primary sources, 2) secondary sources, 3) tertiary sources…some of it is hard cold fact and not subject to interpretation while some is an intepretation of those hard cold facts. Its good to know all this before we come to any conclusion about Hang Tuah because after all whether he even existed or not is still the subject of serious schorlaly debate
PSS- My explanation on Hang Tuah is in no way intended to turn this into a rojak blog. U raise the issue, monty, so i feel you need to be aware of some of the dimensions faced by serious scholars when making an interpretation of history.I hope u finf it benificial
U can respond but i might not be able to immediately. Got to go for a meeting in awhile so maybe my reply will be later ok? sorry for inconveniance
