SAH HUSAM MUSA TIMBALAN PERDANA MENTERI MALAYSIA
I wrote in my old Kickdefella, the above posting on October 27, 2006,
“Hanya setelah tiga hari mengambil alih teraju kepimpinan negara, YABM Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah di sidang akhbar tengahari tadi mengumumkan Husam Musa selaku Timbalan Perdana Menteri Malaysia yang baru. Pengumuman kontroversi itu mencetuskan rasa tidak puas hati di kalangan segelintir pemimpin UMNO yang merasakan keputusan itu telah membelakangkan suara ahli UMNO dan juga suara Majlis Tertinggi UMNO. Bagaimanapun pemerhati politik berpendapat, pemimpin UMNO yang tidak berpuas hati seharusnya menunding jari kepada bekas Presiden UMNO yang telah dipaksa meletakkan jawatan akibat prestasi hambar parti dalam pilihanraya umum ke 12 yang lalu. YABM Tengku Razaleigh, sehari selepas terpilih sebagai Presiden UMNO yang ke 7, mengumumkan kembalinya PAS ke dalam Barisan Nasional. Ura-ura kembalinya PAS ke dalam Barisan Nasional tersebar luas setelah Tengku Razaleigh diwar-warkan bakal memenangi kerusi Presiden parti di dalam pemilihan 3 penjuru itu. Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah yang pernah menerajui Parti Melayu Semangat 46 pernah menyatukan PAS, DAP dan beberapa parti pembangkang lain di dalam Angkatan Perpaduan Ummah dan Gagasan Rakyat dalam 2 pilihanraya umum. YABM Tengku Razaleigh sebelum ini mendiamkan diri ketika diserbu oleh wartawan yang berkemah di hadapan Istana Negara sejurus selepas mengangkat sumpah selaku Perdana Menteri Malaysia yang ke 6. Bagaimanapun hari ini mengesahkan bahawa perlantikan Husam Musa adalah berdasarkan kewibawaan pemimpin muda tersebut dan bukan atas faktor kenegerian. Di dalam sidang akhbar ringkas hari ini, YABM Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah juga mengesahkan bahawa hampir 1 pertiga kementerian telah dimansuhkan menandakan bahawa jumlah anggota kabinet akan kembali berkurangan dan mungkin menyamai bilangan anggota kabinet sewaktu era Tun Dr. Mahathir.”
When I shook Husam’s hand many moons ago, I told him, I want to shake that elusive hand before he became the MB of Kelantan, he denied any interest but said, “What about Timbalan Perdana Menteri,”. I laughed. He must have read my posting.
In the The Star yesterday, the future opposition leader of Kelantan, Dato’ Alwi Che Ahmad, BN Kok Lanas, talked about his concern that Husam has been left out from the hierarchy of Kelantan’s Government. Tuan Guru may not wish to stay until PRU13, although that is the wish of all Kelantanese. Many seem to believe Husam is Tok Guru’s future successor, but the current scenario proved otherwise.
Leaving out Husam may not proved the power tussle theory that Malaysiakini and Berita Harian had reported about, nevertheless, they may have their lead on the situation. As I was away for almost a week from Kelantan, they may know better.
As for me, may be it’s time to hit the road again. It is for sure, Pak Lah going to be substituted any minute now. He won’t be around for long. Kelantan meanwhile in the safe hand. Tok Guru as the wise leader definitely knew better than us all on how to keep the house in order. He has been leading the house for 18 years now.
Maybe it’s a good time for me to continue my study. The idea that has been bugging me since 9.30pm on the March 8, 2008, when we knew it is landslides win for PAS in Kelantan.
The past is something you can see but never touch!

Sadly….PAS …has been having power all these years…in a small way..and do play dirty politics too. So..if Husam is left out….why be surprised??? BUT…it could be leaving him out..free from any post…to suddenly be appointed as MB by Nik….who knows!!!
Lets see how current strong opposition…guide our country youngsters.. to what type of characters and mentalities..they should have.
YES!!….if your future depends on Husam…success or failures..and not on PAS….then you should leave and get an ordinary life…doing a 9am-5pm job.
Study and that may turn out to be a real proffession….not a job.
Never too late to learn anything.

That’s terrible. If Husam joins UMNO. OH MY GOD. But if he’s after power, he can be PAS president also can take the power from UMNO if PAS becomes more modern….So sad, Husam join UMNO. I hope not. YUCKS.

There are 6 dalil why Tengku Razaleigh should be the next UMNO president:
1- He will not favor his son nor his son in law
2-He had a vast experience in dealing with PAS and DAP leaderships during APU’s formation.
3-He is amongst the few surviving UMNO political leaders that remains active since 1069, where almost the same political scenario had happen, His knowhow factor counts
4-He is well accepted by the chinese community, furthermore ‘dia dah masuk cina’.
5-He is not that young, therefore he would not over-stay on the top as our previous PM did.
6 -For the long term planning, UMNO needs to be strong in Kelantan, since PAS goverment in Kelantan has for a long time acts as the inspiration and the symbol for PAS in other states in their struggles.
Datuk Him Ali would for sure uphold this proposal, and not to worry, many more ex-46 would agree, maybe including UMNO’s sec-gen

Yes Bro, that is what exactly the Malays need. If we want, we always can. Nothing is impossible. We are all Muslim, I believe if PAS really serious about installing all the Islamic values into UMNO, it can be done, just a matter of time.
If now PAS can say hold on on Hudud, just to take care of their partners, I believe they can do so with UMNO, and then slowly all the Malays shall unite under the brave leaders who champion Islam.
PAS alone cannot rule Malaysia without support from the Non Muslim. Yes they can get that support, but how strong is the bonding, compare to the support from the Muslim brothers in UMNO.
May be the UMNO members not Islamic enough, but giving time, they will, especially with a proper non confrontation approach. Islam is very beautiful religion, it shall be promoted in a beautiful way too.
@ rakyat biasa: You bettet read this post carefully. It not Pas position. Tuan Guru has asseretd lot’s of time that PAS will never united with UMNO unless they changed their principle from nationalism of Malay to Islamist or Islam for all. Not for certain races or religion but justice for all. As a master student that what I believe desoit different view of PAS from outsiders. As justice and benefit for humanbeing is the objective of shariah or Islamic law. Nonetheless, UMNO is others story.
Tuan guru has mentioned several times with differnt phrases that PAS wouldnt make a coalition with UMNO because of different basic principle while PAS coalition with Barisan Rakyat though we differenciate in ideology yet we shared the basic principle and rule which is justice for all. As an academician I studied history and Islamic political jurisprudence, Islamic priorities jurisprudence etc and wouldnt say a thing that are wrong is right just for the sake of politic. Thus, Barisan Rakyat coalition though will face lots of obstacle yet it is the most solid coalition that is accordingly to Islamic principle which is justice for all.
I don’t think Husam will join UMNO….maybe last time…but not now.
I think he will stay put in PAS…ot team up with keDAILan…never UMNO.

Ambo jugak tak bersetuju kalu PAS join semula UMNO/BN kalu UMNO/BN masih dengan ideologi yang di bawa sekarang ini. jika UMNO/BN mampu megubah ideologinya dengan menerima Islam sbg tunjang perjuangan ambo tak nampok ada halangan yang memboleh kan PAS dgn UMNO/BN bergabung semula. PAS atau UMNO atau BN hanyalah nama, yang penting Islam mesti di tegakkan sebagai Ad-Din. Untuk Non-Muslim, ini bukan satu situasi yang perlu di takuti atau di bimbangi. Sebagai panduan, Islam sebagai Ad-Din ini sudah di terapkan dalam pemerintahan negeri kelantan selama hampir 20 tahun dan terbukti masyarakat non-muslim terjamin hak & kedudukannya sebagai rakyat kelantan, malah lebih bagus dr rakan2 mereka di tempat lain.
Duduk berunding bukan bermakna masuk UMNO….jika PAS bolih berunding ngan DAP untuk kemenangan bersama dlm PRU apa salah nya dengan UMNO untok Islam dan Melayu. Janganlah menjadikan PAS itu suatu parti yang menghalang perpaduan umah dan sombong dengan kemenangan. Kita dapat lihat sebab kenapa PAS masih bertahan di Kelantan tapi kalah di Terengganu, mesti ada yang hendak di tunjukan olih Nya..ini mungkin erti perpaduan yang kita pun tak paham…
Tengok CM Penang jumpa M Sabu pun dlm returan Mc Donal..last2 bolih berjumpa dirumah LKS dengan berseluar pendek saja..apa kah ini penghormatan atau penganiyaan…Isu2 yang M Sabu ingin utarakan n bincangkan hanyalah pada tahap kedai kopi saja…itu perangai orang cina.

Secara peribadi saya menyanjungi keperibadian dan kepimpinan Dato husam di kelantan dan di peringkat pusat.Kalau diminta pandangan saya siapakah yang paling layak mengantikan TGNA sekarang maka Dato Husam lah orang yang paling layak saya akan kata..mengapa? kerana saya memerhati dan mengkaji sendiri kepimpinan dan keperibadiannya semenjak dia mejadi setiausaha sulit TGNA lagi.Saya mula berminat untuk mengenalinya dengan lebih dekat apabila beliau dihantar sebagai wakil bagi pihak kerajaan Kelantan untuk menyampaikan beberapa amanat penting tentang dasar-dasar kerajaan kepada Pelajar-pelajar yang akan berlepas untuk melanjutkan pengajian ke Jordan pada tahun 1994.Sedangkan pada waktu itu beliau bukanlah orang yang sepatutnya bercakap.Tetapi pada pertemuan dan ucapanya itu,semua pelajar2 dan guru2 yang hadir terpukau. Pada ucapan dan keperibadianny jelaslah bahawa beliau cukup hebat.Kami semua amat kagum dengannya,termasuklah bakal YB yang kalah di Parlimen Rantau Panjang beberapa hari lepas.Terdetik di hati kami,inilah bakal menerajui kepimpinan Malaysia suatu hari nanti..Insya Allah.Kalu nak tahu lebih lagi,jumpalah sendiri dengannya samada datang sendiri ke rumahnya atau bila teserempak dengannya di mana-mana.Anda akan tahu di mana kelebihannya.Kepimpinan bukanlah bakat yang dibentuk atau diasus semata-mata tetapi ia adalah anugerah Ilahi kepada seseorang hambanya

those established Uni’s are only open for Bumiputras,
Only Uni’s like Uni Perlis, Uni Trengganu and Uni Darul Iman etc.. are open to all,
More over mostly are Pengajian Islam courses,
So they just walk hand in hand with their Bumi friends sending them off to government U’s.
And they watch frustrated only waiting to go to private Uni’s.
But their parents are not rich either.
Every year, we have this group of young students who are not bumis, but instiled with hatred against the government and BN for thr rest of their life,
just because they are not Bumiputra.
The above are true, just replace Tg Razaleigh with Anwar Ibrahim.

The Malaysian Constitution in its original form was a document that delivered to the People justice according to law; but after the “513” riots, UMNO had progressively undermined the justice elements of the Constitution to finally make nonsense of the Constitution. The Malaysian Constitution today is nothing short a joke and is the laughing stock of the world community. The final product of all the amendments that have been made to meet the political whims of Tun Mahatir is a document that is meaningless; of all the craziness that went to amend the Constitution are those that GAVE ABSOLUTE POWER TO THE JUDICIARY TO DO & ACT ILLEGALLY AND OUTSIDE THE LAW AS AND WHEN IT PLEASES THEM TO DO SO. Malaysia today is lawless because High Court judges themselves commit criminal offences while performing their duties on the bench because they are not required to be accountable and in their IGNORANCE OF THE LAW they commit breaches of the Penal Code and still are not held accountable. If the laws of the nation is not held sacrosanct as it is not held sacrosanct in Malaysia, then there is no need for the very existence of Parliament, because Judges in Malaysia make their own laws by not strictly enforcing the law. Judges depart from provisions of the law and do as they pleased. What jurisprudence in all the civilized world can make sense of the over-riding of the Malaysian Constitution by the Sharia laws, because the Constitution IS THE MOTHER OF ALL LAWS and the Sharia must come under the Constitution not the other way around; this proposition is so basic that any 1st year law student must know, and yet the Highest Court of Malaysia went on to over ride the Malaysian Constitution by the Sharia.
The sorry state of Malaysian politics has come about because the leaders of MCA & MIC were co-conspirators to the leaders UMNO to commit PLUNDER on the nation’s wealth and resources. Without exception the leaders of UMNO<MIC & MCA all became rich; just handful of super rich and all the others of Malays, Indians and Chinese are no better off than when Malaysia first got independence. The real problem why the Malays have not progressed as far and as fast is because of the myth of the NEP. This New Economic Policy was crafted to weave the illusion that all the benefits of Malay special privileges went to the Malays while the Chinese & Indians do not get to participate in the national largess. The IRONY of propaganda that has been touted by the Barisan National to all Malaysians is that the more that it is said that all the benefits of special privileges goes to the Malays the more the Malay people supports the UMNO; when in truth all the benefits of Special Malay Privileges went to a handful of UMNO leaders and their children, in short to the UMNO elites. I believe that this exclusive group make up of about 5,000 families or at most 6,000 families. The point that I want to emphasize is the UMNO spin that all the special privileges went to the Malays, when in fact that has always been a lie, because ONLY THOSE WHO HAVE PERSONAL CONTACTS WITH UMNO ELITES HAVE ACCESS TO THE GOODIES and the ordinary Malays who may be very qualified will miss out just because they have no one to PULL STRINGS. The creation of this UMNO clique restrict the selection of suitable candidates to only a very narrow and small base and therefore THE BEST & BRIGHTEST OF THE MALAYS ARE NOT GIVEN CHANCES. This process runs through to the whole of everything.
I can speak for the Chinese, when I say that we Chinese do not object to giving special privileges to the Malays, but what is not agreeable to us is that the GOODIES ARE NOT GIVEN OUT TO gain the best returns; instead of culling for the best & brightest from 24 million Malay rakyat, the UMNO dominated system find the required number of candidates from only 5,000 families, therefore how can that be the best & brightest ?
From my perspective, if the Malaysian Constitution were brought back to its original form as when it was originally framed, Malaysia will progress much faster and we in Malaysia will eventually catch up to Singapore instead of looking with envy across the Johore Straits because we in Malaysia do not have a viable and equitable model to develop our nation. We in Malaysia have natural resources while Singapore has only rocks, so why are we still behind in our development ? We had the NEP for the last 40 Years and we have not made any meaningful progress, so why do we not try out something new. If People’s Republic of China can rise in world ranking from 132 to No 2 in just a matter of 20 years, what cannot Malaysia do if we had a model that works instead on that is 40 years old and it does not work !
UMNO cannot be salvaged because UMNO is built on an ethos of HATE, it finds support from the Malays by spreading the myth of the Chinese having it all and the Malays are robbed by the Chinese; this is not true but to the Malays it is comforting to know that it is not their inaptitude or their incompetence that is to blame but it is the Chinese that has deprived them of what is theirs. If the truth be told, the Chinese are the ones who keep the economy afloat, of course the Malays will not admit although they know in their own mind that this is so. Who are the people who handle the trade in Malaysia and who are the entrepreneurs in Malaysia if not for the Chinese. We have not been the recipients of any government hand outs for 50 years and we will not need any in the future either. I really think it is good counsel for the Malays not to loose the Chinese component of Malaysia too quickly or as the saying goes, “you may regret getting what you hope for”.
I had earlier written an opinion that for the well being of Malaysia it is not merely enough that UMNO be toppled, BUT UMNO MUST BE DESTROYED and a new and totally Malaysian Malaysia be put in the place of UMNO. I have always advocated that Dato Seri Anwar is the right leader and this point in Malaysian history, because he has the wisdom to state publicly tat the NEP must be scraped and in its place a model that is Dato Seri Anwar’s be put in place. Malaysia has so far only known race based politics and that model is UMNO and it is divisive and from this election the people have rejected it as nt workable. I had also advocated that with the success of the coalition of PAS, DAP and PKR a two party system will emerge, but since the tremendous success of this coalition, my sights have broadened. I believe that it is time for the MCA and the MIC and the PAS and the DAP to merge with PKR to form a non-race based party and that will mean that all these coalition components become as one as eg. Become PKR; remember only a Malay under the Malaysian Constitution can be Prime Minister. However this can only happen in a distant future because PAS will not easily give up their individuality, they may loose support if they did. My suggestion is for a future when our people are more sophisticated.
However, The relevance of MCA and MIC have lost their meaning and there is nothing for MCA to stick around UMNO except to lick UMNO arses. I believe that is not this one the next UMNO will loose government. In its present form MCA cannot represent the Chinese in any meaningful way. Having said that may I tout the idea that all MCA members of Parliament of this election CROSS THE FLOOR OF PARLIAMENT AND JOING IN UNITED FRONT WITH KEADILAN TO FORM GOVERNMENT. MCA must not compound their 50 years of licking the feet of UMNO. Stand up on your “hiny” and bid UMNO farewell. Chinese interests is best served by PKR.
In my opinion it would be a big lost if Hussan choosen to be the new MB.Why not appoint him as a senotor????From there there be can the true Hussan.
