Sheih on Sheih: The Green Merdeka

31 08 2007

On Merdeka eve, I was asked to give statement to Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission regarding my posting, You Give US a Bad Name on Kickdefella.wordpress.com dated 4th July 2007. I was questioned by the Investigating Officer from the Monitoring & Enforcement Division.

As a proud Malaysian, I gave my full cooperation. Over Marlboro and Dunhill, the session lasted for about 90 minutes with me willingly answering the entire question in 14 pages and even shows some skills on Adobe Photoshop.

Before the session begins, The Investigating Officer asked whether I have ever gives any statement to the police etc. He then proceed by reading my rights and said I am asked to give my statement under The Communications and Multimedia Act (1998) which is the Act 588 section 256 (2). I am told that my statement is to help with the investigation and I am not the accused.

I shall not speculate on a matter that is under investigation but in general these are among the information that I voluntarily provide to help with the investigation,

  1. That I admitted that I owe 2 web blogs; one is http://kickdefella.wordpress.com and two, http://penembakbadak.wordpress.com.
  2. That I admitted I take sole responsibility on my web blogs.
  3. That I admitted I handle all the updating and maintenance of the web blogs.
  4. That I admitted I wrote all the articles on my web blogs.
  5. That I admitted I upload all the contents myself.
  6. That I admitted I did upload the article You Give Us a Bad Name on the 4th July 2007.
  7. That I admitted copying the photo for that articles from third parties websites.
  8. That I admitted that I digitally put the word “FAKE” in one of the three photographs posted under that particular posting.
  9. That I admitted I knew that one of the photographs that I copied from the third party site has been digitally doctored.
  10. That I admitted I have the skills to used Adobe Photoshop to do Digital Imaging Manipulations.
  11. That I admitted I have myself digitally manipulates about 50 images that I posted on my web blogs.
  12. That I admitted all the information that I provided in the statement are done voluntarily.

I would like to thank Rocky, Zorro, Allied Master and Elviza for the support and words of encouragement. Rocky worked hard to make sure that I was actually giving the statement to ‘the right person’.

I would also wish to thank the Investigating Officer for understanding my needs of Marlboro.

On the Merdeka Day, I started my morning with a prayer to my late father whom together with thousands other Malaysian, Australians, New Zealanders, Papua New Guineans, Indians, Gurkhas and many other young men from the British Commonwealth, fought and some even lost their lives while a lot more wasted their youth in the Jungle in Malaya and Borneo, just to make this country what it is today. For that, I salute them.

I also would like to recognise the Bangladeshis, Indians, Indonesians, Filipinos, Vietnamese, Burmese and many other who have worked hard to make our cities what there are today.

I would also like to thank Arwah Mokhtar Dahari, James Wong, Soh Chin Aun and R. Arumugam, Marina Chin, Zaiton Othman and Isthiaq Mubarrak, The Malaysian Hockey team in the seventies, Foo Kok Keong, Ong Beng Teong and Razif Sidek, and David Arumugam, Sudirman Haji Arshad and Tun Dr Mahathir for making me proud of being a Malaysian. For your passion will forever live in my memory. For you have enlightens your era and I am proud to witness those moments.

And, for today, I created my Herbs and Vege gardens in the backyard as my contribution to our Prime Minister Abdullah Bin Haji Ahmad’s dreams of exporting our vegetables to Japan in return of having all Hondas here, tax free.

How I wish Malaysia is a place where the people rule the politicians and not the politicians rule us. Maybe PRU 12 will be a day where we teach BN, PAS, DAP, Keadilan and the rest that we, Malaysian, have enough of you all. If we count all the members of these political parties, I do not think it even make up to one-third of the voters. So why should we allow them to rule us?

How are we going to do that? As I see it, there are two ways of doing it. One is by making the PRU 12 a non-event. Yes, let us all not go out to vote. Let us make PRU 12 the worst ever election turn-out in the history of the WORLD. Or, if we choose to go out and vote, let us not vote the Parties; let us vote the candidates, instead. In this manner, we are able to teach all political parties to considered us, the Malaysian not themselves when they want to put their candidates.

Are we Merdeka? I used to believe so.

The Kelantan Corridor

28 08 2007

The Green Corridor

The last two weeks were the busiest weeks for most people within the Kelantan Civil Service and within the political circles. Almost every day there are functions that involved the Palace. Both the HRH the King and HRH the Queen are very supportive and being busy meeting the subjects in states functions.

al-sultan-1.jpg

Before The Prime Minister Abdullah Haji Ahmad (Badawi wasn’t in his Birth Certificate), arrives for the scheduled launching of The Eastern Corridor after Raya, Kelantan already has surplus of economic corridors which are more practical, sustainable, people friendly and nature friendly which most important, actually benefit the people and not crony-friendly and son-in-law friendly only.

Above all, the Kelantan Economic Corridor are Palace Friendly, religions Friendly and discrimination-free.

kifalah-tg-anis.jpg

Among the flagship under the Kelantan Economic Corridor were:

  1. The Senior Citizen’s Corridor – which is Pelan Takaful Kifalah.

  2. The Single Mother’s Corridor – which is the Armallah – where the state provides one-off donation and social-economic supports.

  3. The Rempit’s Corridor – The state’s invest in a racing circuit in Tanah Merah for motorsports activities.

  4. The Goat’s Corridor – Where the state provides the participant with 5 goats each and upon breeding, the goats will then collected by state to be given to next group of participants.

  5. The Golden Corridor – where the state is planning an economic based on the Gold Dinar and Silver Dirham.

Those are among the example of the ‘corridor’ that has benefits the people of Kelantan. Although it is not the Billion Ringgit kind of Corridor but what most important is, it actually help generating the state’s economy and help the consumers to have the buying power.

Today, I have the opportunity to interview Dr. Pheeraphan Wijitphan an expert in Agar Wood and owner of Agar Wood Siam Co. Ltd.

gaharu-agarwood-ind0011salor.jpg

Dr. Pheraphan is here on the invitation of Mr Zaidi of Agarwood Industry (Kelantan) Sdn Bhd, the company that plays an important role in developing the Gaharu industry in Kelantan. Dr. Pheeraphan is working hand in hand with Mr. Zaidi in developing the Gaharu economic which the wealth shall linger on Kelantanese just as the smell of Agar Wood itself.

Yesterday, HRH the Queen has given each Gaharu participants under The MB Corporation’s ‘Skim Galakan Tanaman Karas’ the ‘Pokok Depu or Karas’ as the marked of the beginning of the Gaharu revolution in Malaysia. One Depu tree is known to generate a minimum of RM120,000. Don’t ask me on the details, because I am still very confused about it. But just imagine the worth of 5 or 10 Depu Tree for each participant. After only 2 and a half to five years the participant can start to expect the revenue from each tree.

gaharu-tg-anis.jpg

In The Kelantan Economic Corridor, the people are the cronies of the state government. We torture our cronies to work hard by giving them something worth to work for. We do not ask our cronies to flatten the earth but we forced them to make our world greener.

With that, we hope that when Annuar Musa become the next MB of Kelantan after BN recapture the state in next election, Annuar Musa can sleep his term to death as the PM is doing with his.

By the way, did I see Khairy Jamaluddin in Vietnam recently? Is BN planning to branch out in Vietnam with all the BN posters being printed there? I wonder.

I feel green!

Sheih on Sheih: The Past Is Something I Could See But Not Touch

14 08 2007

It’s been a gruesome week. On the day I was informed that Super Mum will be discharge from the hospital, I rushed to get a flight ticket back to KL.

Upon arriving in KL after horrendous delays by Malaysia Airlines, I saw the true definition of “Tongkah Pecah” with exhausted ’sailors’ surrounding it at my former home in KL.

migration0019photo-personal.jpg

migration0034photo-personal.jpg

The next day we packed everything into two lorries and we left for Kota Bharu. That is our farewell to the place we called home for the last seventh years. No barbeque, no farewell party as planned originally.

On Saturday all our things arrived with minor damaged and I think it will take us a month or two to have all of it in place.

My instinct was right. The kids love the place. Wef and Guli immediately put on their boots and started playing football as early as the first light. Al is waiting for his bicycle which I promised, to scout around the Kampong.

Meqna however find it difficult to settle down at first as she never laid her foot on the grass or the soil before. She found it weird and terrifying. But not for long, by noon, she already started to terrorise the yard.

migration0055photo-personal.jpg

Yesterday Mama joined us. Her condition is very much ‘not good’. I am not sure how to put it but it was difficult to understand her words. The water retention in her lungs is causing her breathing becomes very heavy. Having the hospital discharging her even in such bad shape will only make us understand more about how bad her health is. It is like living on a borrowed time.

Nevertheless, we really find solace in this new place. Watching the squirrels, birds, insects and of cause the cows, remind me of my childhood days. I am very happy now that my kids also have the chance enjoy such atmosphere.

Kuala Lumpur will never be the same for us anymore. There are lots of things that I had take for granted in regard of Kuala Lumpur for the last 17 years; I would not say I shall miss living in KL though. I am also sure, KL still will be, if not weekly, at least monthly affair for me. Nevertheless for my kids, leaving Kuala Lumpur for Kelantan is such a monumental migration in a lot of aspect. It will bring certain psychological effects to them.

Super Mum off the Machine

6 08 2007

Around ten this morning, Dr. Nurul Huda informed us that Mama is now in much stable condition compared to the last twelve hours. At about eleven, she is off the machine and I managed to spoke to her and listened to the voice I missed most. She looks fine. Nevertheless as our experience with our late father taught us, we are prepared for anything to happen.

Mama is 70 years old and has been suffering from diabetic for the last 40 years. She also had been living with hypertension for 20 years or so now. The last two months, her heart started to fail her. As the result of the heart failure, fluid gathered in her lungs causing difficulty for her to breathe.

With her desire for good food, I have to respect her for surviving with diabetic that long without any visible effect to her physic. The first thing she asked me today was what’s for lunch? When I informed her that she had to fast for the next six hours before she can take any fluid or food, she looks visibly upset.

Thank you for all the prayers and well wishes through this blog and smses. We appreciated it very much.

Before I left for Penang last weekend, our final conversation was regarding her Takaful Kifalah policy. She was quite disturbs with the fact that the policy-holder will only received the money upon death. Later, she finally understood that Takaful Kifalah is all about reducing the burdens for the kin upon the death, and for muslim, it can be used to settle all outstanding debts if any. Since, my mum said she is debt free, she told me to use the money to make her grave looks beautiful, so all her children and grand children would love to visit her grave. I took it as a joke.

Since coming back to Kelantan, mum has become my good buddy. We love to jokes with each other and constantly jabbing each other with our sarcasm. Now, I am staring at the prospect of losing not just my mum but also my new found buddy. They said, when you love someone, you have to set them free. I am not going to be selfish about it.

I shall leave to God for what best for her.

I thank God for this wonderful three months with her. With His miracle, I have stumble upon Dato’ Husam, and soon pack my stuff and living with my mum again, just like it used to be thirty years ago. God is great. As I live and breathe, I can never dispute it. Life is such a well written script and it is like a box of chocolate, you never knew what you going to get inside it, (so said Forest Gump’s mother).

But, as I also claimed, God works in a mysterious way. Bringing me back to Kelantan was actually His way of preparing me for moments like this. While I am not sure this moment is the preparation for what that lie in the future, I always knew that it is for the best. Nothing less.

Supermum in grave condition

6 08 2007

My mama is now in CCU ward of Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II Kota Bharu. The hospital had to ventilate her as she cannot breathe without the support of the machine. She was hospitalised around seven-thirty pm on the 4th of August 2007. Her blood pressure has dropped significantly during the first few hours. However, as for today, she began to show the sign that she is responding to the treatment regime dedicated to her; nevertheless her condition is still, critical but stable.

I was in Penang when I was informed of her condition. I left the Gala Night for FFM20 before it begins and left for Kota Bharu via East West Highway. I arrived in Kota Bharu at three am and found she is heavily sedated, her blood pressure is still like a “yoyo” and her heartbeat rate is 155.

When I was small, Mama used to sing to me this unknown song,

“Dulu, di bendung di pangku,

di ajarnya berkata,

diselimutinya.

Nasi, di pipih di suapkan,

di pimpinnya berjalan,

kasih mesra ibu.

Tapi kini hanya,

ku lihat pusaramu,

tempat baring si ibuku,

yang sangat ku sayangi”

I prayed to God, to be given another chance to hear her voice again. How I missed it. And I am not yet ready to miss her.

Sheih on Sheih: Windmills of Your Mind

3 08 2007

dsc_0001.jpg
Round, like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel.
Never ending or beginning,
On an ever spinning wheel
Like a snowball down a mountain
Or a carnival balloon
Like a carousel that’s turning
Running rings around the moon

ffm200006photo-journal.jpg
Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes on its face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

ffm200004photo-journal.jpg
Like a tunnel that you follow
To a tunnel of its own
Down a hollow to a cavern
Where the sun has never shone
Like a door that keeps revolving
In a half forgotten dream
Or the ripples from a pebble
Someone tosses in a stream.

ffm200002photo-journal.jpg
Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes on its face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

ffm200003photo-journal.jpg
Keys that jingle in your pocket
Words that jangle your head
Why did summer go so quickly
Was it something that you said
Lovers walking along the shore,
Leave their footprints in the sand
Was the sound of distant drumming
Just the fingers of your hand

ffm200005photo-journal.jpg
Pictures hanging in a hallway
And a fragment of this song
Half remembered names and faces
But to whom do they belong
When you knew that it was over
Were you suddenly aware
That the autumn leaves were turning
To the colour of her hair

ffm200008photo-journal.jpg
Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning,
On an ever spinning wheel
As the images unwind
Like the circle that you find
In the windmills of your mind

ffm200009photo-journal.jpg
Pictures hanging in a hallway
And the fragment of this song
Half remembered names and faces
But to whom do they belong
When you knew that it was over
Were you suddenly aware
That the autumn leaves were turning
To the colour of her hair

ffm200011photo-journal.jpg
Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning,
On an ever spinning wheel
As the images unwind
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

FFM20

Yesterday, I arrived at undisclosed location in Penang for the final part of Jury Duty for the 20th Malaysian Film Festival. The day before I travelled to Penang, I managed to get a place which I hope to call home in Demit, near Kubang Kerian.

My New Home

The house was courtesy of hard work by Bro Zaini and Bro Shazwan, both are my office mate. The house located near a river close to Pulau Melaka and fifty meters away, I can see people ‘nyonteng’ Batik. It’s truly Kampong atmosphere.

It is surrounded by greeneries. It’s the kind of love at a first sight for me.

Hope to make the necessary arrangement for my family to move in there by end of next week. Wish to thank all the readers especially those whom have done so much trying to search for a place for me. For the past few weeks I have been receiving numerous emails, photographs and videos of potential place for me to call home.

Now, I can have my sis Elviza and her kid for barbeque including the rest of my blogger friends. Not to forget, my Bro YB Sallahudin too, as now I am under his constituency.

THE BLUE TORTOISE

Thanks to FFM20, I managed to get out of Kelantan in time before the Blue Radioactive Tortoise arrived last Thursday. With that I can assured you that I am not affected by excessive exposure from the blue radiation. Nevertheless, am feeling blue alone in this suite. But my mind is distance away thinking of the herbs garden that I have been dreaming for ages. Now I can have my herbs garden at the backyard.

Thank You.
